I am generally reluctant to leave one-star reviews. I do this now, not out of spite or bitterness, but because I genuinely hope this business can improve. Unfortunately, tonight’s experience marks the final time we will visit this restaurant, unless there is a change in ownership or a dramatic turnaround. Over the past year, the service has steadily declined, and the quality of the food has followed the same path. Five or six years ago, this place served some of the best naan you could find in Australia. Now, it is among the worst. What was once a restaurant where food was clearly thought through and cared for has lost that sense of pride, which is genuinely disappointing. Since the change in ownership (maybe a couple?), not only has the naan deteriorated, but the overall food quality has continued to drop. While the butter chicken recipe remains relatively similar, the quantity of meat in the dishes has reduced and the gravy has been thinned, and the consistency and flavour of other dishes, such as the rogan josh and saag have declined significantly. The issues extend to the service. Although the staff are polite and smiling, there is a clear difficulty with English, making communication challenging for many customers. This evening, the staff member serving us did not seem to understand which dishes were which or how to serve them. After a long and frustrating wait while other customers were experiencing this, we experienced the same confusion, only to then be told the naan would take another 10 to 15 minutes to cook. - seriously, put the naan on first, then work out the curries so we’re not holding several boxes of curries that are getting colder while we then wait again. I truly hope this curry house can improve in the future. It was once a regular and much-loved stop for our family and we have been regular customers for 9 years. Sadly, unless things change dramatically, tonight will have been our last visit.
