The menus clearly state that halal food is served. All Handmade Burger Co. outlets have menus that clearly state that Halal chicken is available. From the website: 'Halal chicken is available upon request & all of our restaurants will have a certificate to prove this from our butcher - just ask our team. The chicken is held & prepared in accordance to Halal guidelines & is cooked on an entirely separate grill when a customer asks for Halal chicken.'
Score reflects admin-confirmed halal status, with an active issue report under review.
I was a regular at Honest Burger in Manchester up until around the summer of 2025, the burgers here can be great, but more recently I’ve found the standards to be so inconsistent from visit to visit, with a couple of price rises, it kind of feels you never know which version of Honest you’re going to get, don’t get me wrong, I’ve had so many great burgers here, and the staff are great, but I’ve also had some pretty bad ones too. My regular favourites are the Classic Smashed Burger and the Buffalo Chicken Burger. All burgers can be made gluten-free with a 30 p supplement for the bun. The gluten-free bun isn’t too bad, but it can get hard and doughy sometimes, and it has tasted almost frozen before. They also deliver on Uber EATS. I have had some issues with the delivery service; despite ordering just a couple of minutes away, I always find that the beef-based burgers aren’t hot. I ordered a California Burger yesterday, and it was lukewarm, and even the fries were overcooked. The gluten-free options are really good, as pretty much the entire menu can be made gluten-free, even fried chicken and onion rings - so there’s certainly a lot of choice, and with the white Honest branded paper to serve on the bowls, I always feel safe eating here with my allergy. The staff are really friendly, and always try their best to deliver the best possible service. There is a service charge, and while I don’t like service charges in general, they do certainly deserve it here. I do want to focus on some of the positives, as when this place is good, it is VERY GOOD, and they can have the best burgers in town, the smashed patties are juicy, the sauces are good, the fried chicken and fillings is tasty but I’ve just had so many experiences now where the food has looked like it’s been thrown together, they’ve missed customisations (such as adding extra pickles despite removing them completley), the food has been undercooked, the bun has been poorly defrosted that it isn’t the reliable option it once was.
