Had a mixed experience. The goat karahi and the Chapli Kabab were good but the goat boti (BBQ) tasted and smelled bad. Will probably try it another time though to check out more dishes.
Low key setting. Simple deco. Missed an item on our order. But gave us two complimentary items. Food was fresh and tasty. My daughter liked the chicken nuggets. We ordered the beef and chicken kabobs. The eggplant dish was good and the naans were soft and warm. Mango shake was fresh and so was the lassi. The green tea was aromatic. Would recommend to give it a try.

Hospitable owners, authentic tasty and FRESH food, Zabiha meat, including hand-cut chicken. Definitely going there again Insha Allah. Please help them out if you enjoyed your experience there by recommending your family and friends, as well as 'liking' them on FB and other social media forums.
Few things that makes this restaurant unique: 1. Halal: of course, and they use only hand cut zabiha. Tahir brand is an approved hand cut zabiha in Houston area and the restaurant use that, verified by the vendor. 2. Fresh, this is a challenge, you can feel the freshness. 3. Goat and lamb karahi, you wont find something even close to this in the USA, all the Houston Desi media reporter are coming here to eat and they told me that they went to almost every restaurant in Houston and some even out of State in search of good food, no one can beat this Karahi. Some says it reminds us home and some other says Peshawar. You have to eat it to believe it, the owner even says that if you are not satisfied, your money back :) hmmm 4. grill items are unique, perfectly seasoned, just enough so you can have the real taste of eat meat, not Shaan Masala :) If you are in Houston, please give it a shot!
The best Afghani food that i have ever had. Don\'t be let down by physical appearance of the shopping plaza. The food here is 5 star! I tried Bolani (Turnovers filled with leek, potatoes, onions and herbs.) as an appetizer, which was very good. Then at the recommendation of the staff i ordered Lamb/Goat Karahi (Lamb/Goat meat seasoned with fresh herbs and spices, cooked to perfection). This is by far the best afghani karahi. I would definitely go back. Naan was good too. And then at the end, Their green tea is a must!
I was waiting for my flight at LAX leaving for Houston (First time going to Texas) decided to search for Halal restaurants in Houston and came across this place. I decided to call them and ask for restaurant timings. They told me the restaurant closes at 10 PM. I told them that we were coming from LA and were going to arrive at around 10:30. The owner was so amazing he agreed to keep the restaurant open just for us. Not only that, we actually reached the restaurant at around 11 pm and they were kind enough to keep the restaurant open for us way past midnight. Thank you so much for this Pukhtun hospitality. Coming to the food. I have only one word to describe it. AMAZING! I have not had such authentic Kabuli pulao ever since I moved to United States. The shinwari tikka was another such dish which reminded me of back home. Everything that we had at this restaurant was amazing. Even the green tea. It was so amazing that we went there three days in a row. I wish them the best of luck and hope they can open a branch in OC. if not, then at least share the recipe of the pulao with us :)
I visited this restaurant on 02-09-2014 and found it one of the best places I ever visited....! The Qabuli Palav and Goat karahi was amazing and we will definitely try it again.... outstanding customer service. we paid under 25$ for food which was more then enough for two people and had to ask for To Go Box to carry our left over!
Ordered goat karahi and meat stink can't eat it even not recommend to anyone
Good food. Good service. Clean restaurant.
1. Great Food 2. Great Service 3. Good Family Environment 4. Reasonable Price
Recently opened restaurant The Afghan Village is a really good hope for me, because in Houston I have found so many Halal restaurants without taste. The Afghan Village started with good taste and price as well, one thing which I wanna mention is the service which they provide is really awesome.
It was my first time ever to try afghan food and loved it. They offered free afghan tea before serving the food. The atmosphere is nice. Beside chairs, they have a wooden floor up high with traditional rugs, mattresses and pillows.
Must Try the Authentic Afghan Food here.
