Best halal Mexican cuisine!
Food was delicious, but overpriced. A small taco is $2. They need to lower prices.
I had lunch here yesterday and found the food to be average, it was not bland rather it was tasteless. Fortunately, there was a bottle of Mexican hot sauce available for me to add a bit of taste to it. Service was excellent and very friendly.
Went to this place per a recommendation. The food was pretty good, not great, but friendly service and a unique concept.
My family and I are from Southern California, so we have high standards for Mexican food. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality, variety and taste of the food at Taqueria Los Sombreros. I had the chicken fajitas and enjoyed them. I definitely plan on going back there, very reasonable prices and large quantity. I disagree with the review posted by \"dra\", I don\'t know if he/she is talking about the same place.
Disregard "Dra" The food is inexpensive, yummy, and filling! I've visited on several occasions and the staff is very pleasant, and always makes sure that customers are satisfied!
I don't know whether "dra" is simply trolling or just a competitor. I went with my aunt, cousin and her kids; and we as Mexicans absolutely loved it. The food was very fresh, and I was even surprised to see menudo and tongue on the menu. Other so-called "Halal Mexican restaurants" are actually Tex-Mex, but the staff here hapoens to be Mexican. The menu items were precisely what you would find at a typical authentic Mexican restaurant. Br./Sr. Dra: lying is haram.
The worst Mexican food we have ever had. We are going to have to stick to chipotle. Even worse than Taco Bell if that's possible. My husband ordered chicken enchiladas and they tasted crappy and red mole sauce was bitter. I ordered chicken quesadilla and was loaded with bits of dry overly spicy marinated chicken 1cm cubes and little cheese. It was so dry. Can't believe they can't even make a simple quesadilla! We feel nauseated ever since we left. There's nothing fresh about the food. We should have known better than to eat there when the place was empty. The concept of a halal Mexican place is ideal and we hope someday we will find it in Chicago!
Cheap, good, authentic, go!
Large variety of Mexican cuisine made fresh and configured to your preferred spiciness. Tried sopes for the first timeand enjoyed some old favorites. Definitely a trip back is due soon. Excellent service in a nice cozy place.
Awesome Mexican Zabihah Halal Food, friendly staff and they have a large variety of Mexican food at reasonable prices.
So I visited this place today as I drive a truck cross country so I visit various halal restaurants. Its nice and clean and the menu prices are reasonable or yet comparable to a regular mexican restaurant. I had beef burrito and I must say it was nothing to write on facebook about lol. Some lettuce and couple small slices of tomatoes with beef mixed with some weird tasting bean and tomato puree. Taste was very bland. Im giving 3 stars for the decor and the desire to want to serve the muslim community. Food gets 1 star until it is authwntic mexican food.
I must have been to this place more than 10 times, since Ramadan, and every time I tried to taste a different item from Menu. I would admit that food continue to be awesome, place is great and you can't beat the price. Now they also have Fried Chicken (without skin - wow) and wings.
Surprisingly good! Food was flavorful, will most likely return:) should be open longer than 9pm!
