Kabob Bazaar is delighted to serve the Washington DC metropolitan area with authentic Persian cuisine since December 15, 1993. Traditional instrumental Iranian music is played lightly throughout the restaurant, allowing customers to be introduced to a small but significant part of the beautiful Persian culture. Paintings displaying people, places, and designs pertaining to the Iranian culture. Samovars, traditional pots used to boil water and brew aromatic Persian tea, are placed behind the bar. Many customers sit at the bar and enjoy the traditional hot tea while socializing. Kabob Bazaar's delicious kabobs are freshly prepared daily and cooked right before your eyes on our open-fire grill. We also offer delicious daily specials. Our homemade bread is also made to order, crisp and hot in our tanoor clay-oven. We hope to see you at Kabob Bazaar very soon!
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.
Score reflects a halal certificate on file.
I called the resturant asking about halal food and was told only chicken and lamb is halal but beef is not. I did the same at the resturant personally and the same info was confirmed. Small selection but good food though.
I highly doubt that it's Halal since they serve Alcohol and also there was NO mention of Halal anywhere in the restaurant or in the menu. I ordered Salmon Kabob (sea food) which was really good. All the employees didn't seem to be Muslim. I stronly request Zabihah.com's team to investigate or REVISE their Halal status. The restaurant's owner wouldn't sell alcohol if they really cared about Halal/Haram. Thanks
Pretty good Persian restaurant with good service and portions. The server kept the bread and cucumber sauce (I think it was cucumber sauce) coming which was a great touch. Kabobs and grilled veggies were tasty and I would return. Good atmosphere.
I was craving some Kebab so, I decided to google kebabs near me. I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. I was greeted by a friendly waitress, who took my order, first I was served with some bread and herbs and a yogurt sauce. The waitress instructed me to place the herbs inside the bread and dip it in the yogurt sauce! Absolutely delicious! Then, a very nice gentleman came and brought me my sprite, also served water without asking. The lamb was so tender and juicy the char from the fire made it so much better. The flavors exploded all at once. Ate it with white and saffron rice and a side of salad with light vinaigrette! Chefs kiss, the staff is so friendly and warm and continued to check up on me! To finish off I had the crispy baklava. Usually the baklavas I’ve had are swimming in syrup but not this one! You can taste the flavor! Over all 10/5 experience! I will definitely be bringing my family here.
