Food was tasteless, very bland. I have been going to Shalimar for last 22 years. The quality at Dublin is going downhill

Good food and decent quantities. Go for taste and authenticity but keep your expectations for service low as service level and quality is minimum to non-existent. This is a no frills restaurant. The food is mostly suitable for takeout. Yes it is dirty and the table tops are sticky but the food is authentic and finger licking good. This is not a place to take someone out on a first date. This is a place when you are in the 12th year of your marriage have 2 to 3 little brats that are running around, screaming and crying while their collective noses are running. But you still want to go out and enjoy some spicy food and not care about what others will think about your manners and your loud kids. 2018 Update: I came here with high hopes based on my previous experience, but something is amiss. Food is still fresh, quantity is very generous but the flavor was missing. I ordered Seekh kababs, Chicken tikka and brain Masala. They ranged from Acceptable (kababs) to mediocre (Tikka) to terrible (Brain Masala). The only redeeming item was Naans, which were still good and hearty. The brain masala was very watery, had absolutely no flavor or spices and had big chunks of brain floating in very watered down gravy. I've never had such kind of 'Maghaz' before. I would've chalked this out to an off-night for the chef but a local friend told me that lately their quality has gone down considerably. The place was however busy for a Sunday night. So they must be doing something right. I am not sure what is it though? Maybe their cut rate prices or large portions?

Sub-standard food. Ordered goat karahi but what they served was more like goat curry. Karahi does not have \"shorba\" , but what they served had plenty of it. Naan was cold and coarse.

The food tastes just as good in Dublin as it does in San Francisco. Shalimar Zindabad!

Awesome Place. I ate here almost every day while I was in Pleasanton for a week. Their Chicken Tikka (Breast piece) and Goat Biryani were SUPERB. Seekh Kabab were good too. This is a MUST TRY.

Went here for lunch today. Same great quality Shalimar food and friendly service. Although they are a bit disorganized at this location - especially when it comes to seat numbers and a little slow on the service, but that\'s Shalimar for you. People come here for the food, not the service. Had the chicken boti kebabs and the beef seekh kababs. Both were juicy and tasty. Had garlic naan and regular naan. Good as usual (although I wish they put butter on it without having to pay extra!).

Best Desi Food in the Bay and perhaps the country! I know people that freeze their Shalimar when visiting from out of state. 2 Chicken Tikka Masala and 2 Chicken Tandoori with 4 Naan and free 2 chai is all you need to feed a family of 3-4 for under $40

We've tried various meat and vegetarian dishes. Our favorites are chicken kofta, chicken tikka and biryani. Vegetarian dishes need a lot if improvement. The place can get very noisy. Owner should do something some redecoration to dampen the noise and improve the ambiance.

What can I say, I am a fan of Shalimar. Food is tasty and fresh. I have tried most of the items on the menu and they are great. I would recommend chicken kabobs, Chana masala and other grilled items. Some of the gravies are a bit oily but if you ask, they take the oil out before serving. This is a great addition to the growing Shalimar chain in the Bay Area. They also cater food and I am always happy with the quantity and quality.

The aroma of food greets you as you get out of your car. Tandoori chicken was absolutely delicious, Nihari was among the best I've had in the states, naan was fresh and yummy. Price is good and although there was nothing remarkable about the service, at least they didn't ignore us. Definitely recommend.

NOT like the one in Fremont! Fremont is quick and excellent service. Make sure you always check your bill here they'll extra charge and there super slow!

Great food at this "self-service" restaurant. If you want any type of service then don't go there. If you want best tasting food then you must go.

If you are familiar with the Fremont Shalimar, it's exactly the same. Same food, same quality...delicious. Just don't go there on a business meeting, it can get very loud with the acoustics of the room and the always packed restaurant.

Good food, OK service, and everything you would normally expect from Shalimar (based on their other locations). They ran out of the iftaari food when we were there to open our fast. Quite a popular destination, especially in Ramadan. This location accepts credit cards! I will return next time I'm in the area.

I go there for takeout mostly every week. When family is visiting, go there to dine almost everyday. The food is delectable and never fails to impress. I don't believe it could get any better than this and that's the reason I don't try other places when it comes to carnivore cuisine. A must try especially if you live in the trivalley.
