An average-stocked Afghan grocer with skids of large rice bags piled at the door and three aisles of AfPak groceries in a shop approximate to a convenience store (not really much of a restaurant - just that you can order a sandwich from the back counter). Perhaps she had a bad day or mistook me for someone else (or for some reason disliked me without ever having met me), but the clerk at the store was remarkably disrespectful - to the point that I quietly left the shop without purchases, resolving not to return.
The best thing about Kabul Food Market is definitely the bread. It's freshly baked and it's normally gone by noon, so you need to go in the morning or call them to keep it for you if you're going there in the afternoon. The only suggestion is that the should sell only one piece as well, for people who just want one loaf, rather than getting a two-piece bag.
