About Sunset International Café

Small cook to order cafe. Some limited eat-in. Great prices and value, delicious food. Every day fresh polourie and double and alu pie, and pine tarts and bhara. Cafe is in the front of S and A grocery store- a halal market that sells also west Indian grocery staples and fresh vegetables. They don't cook on Sundays, although the grocery is open.

I love them. The menu has downsized from versions you will find on the internet, focuses on curry, stew, fried rice, chow mein and other guyanese staples. Sister Zalima covers her head (Yay!) and has free copies of Quran and Sunnah books for you on her counter. My favorite dish is Chicken in the ruff- this is NOT listed on the menu and must be special ordered about 20 mins ahead. Get two orders with fried rice and your family of four will be full, full -full. The fresh chicken is redolent of spices, the fried rice is PLENTIFUL and delicious. T The peppersauces are fresh, the tamarind sauce is yum. An absolute must is the polourie and double and pine tarts. Fresh and soft and the tarts are slightly crisp and sweet. Yum. Their wings are some of the best wings I have ever had- and we Love wings, my brother who is super critical said they were stellar. I advise calling ahead and preordering- we call and say we would like to pick up at 4:30- that way we only have to wait a little bit. The owners are so kind, we also go to them to cut up our Qurbani every year- they charge a pittance compared to other places, may ASWT bless them, InshAllah.
