The restaurant is run by a Muslim family from Turkey. Met a Muslim Malaysian who used to work as a butcher in NZ and confirmed the status Halal status of the the restaurant.

Excellent service, excellent food and excellent atmosphere! We visited Bombay Bistro for all our meals in Taupo straight for 2 days!!! The restaurant serves one of the best tasting Indian food in New Zealand!!!! Loved the hospitality and thanks to the head Dalbir Singh Rawat for spoiling us so much!!! Special mention to Umesh for all the sweetness! If you’re in Taupo and want to have lip smacking Indian food, Bombay Bistro should be your destination!!!
