Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status.. Only a bakery - no more meat items sold here.
One of the most popular Turkish restaurants in the United States and maybe the best in San Diego, CA, Sultan Turkish Cuisine has carved its signature in food lovers hearts and souls. We all know that one can only taste the real Turkish food in Turkey, but Sultan Kebab Shop has made it possible for us to have same experience in his restaurant. That is why Sultan has many famous Turkish customers visiting his restaurant while in San Diego.

Great restaurant, nice staff. Literally the best lahmajun in the state. Reasonable prices. Don't forget their baklava, that is also one of the best! I stronly recommend, you won't be disappointed.
Sultan Kebab & Baklava is indeed the first quality Turkish restaurant I have ever been to. The prices are reasonable, the servings are proper, and the food is cooked with respect to authenticity.. At first you'll be stymied by the permutations and combinations of meats and spices on the menu (as well as the fact that the menu items are in Turkish), but that makes the experience more curiosu. I started with the Lahmajun (meat/tomato pizza) as an appetizer ($3), ordered a plate of falafels ($7), tried the Alinazik Kebab ($14) and was treated to a vibrant and relaxing Turkish Coffee (free). The portions are sizeable (fair for the price you pay), and everything is cooked with time and patience. The Lahmajoun was light and flaky, Falafels were large and hearty, and the Kebab was succulent and quite flavorful. The only unfavorable aspect of the experience was the long wait to order food, and the wait for the food. Although the latter is tolerable when the food is tasty. I would come by at a not-so-busy time, or order your Turkish Coffee at the beginning (first cup is free aparantly) This place is definitely worth a try for a culinary sojourner, and I'd consider going there again. I've finally consumed decent Turkish food...
