Where do I start? Mediocre food at best. None of the items i wanted on the menu were available including the parathas that I drove for a long distance. The wait staff seemed disinterested to serve and the food was ... well not worth coming back for (that\'s as nicely as i can put it). There was a party going on next door at the banquet. I believe that\'s their main interest and not the restaurant.
The quality took a hit since they moved to New location. Looks like Desi restaurants have championed art of zero customer service and insanely high menu prices. At least bbq has some trade with their ridiculous pricing, lal qila has no taste
Attentive wait staff. Disappointing fare. The rather aloof owners seem to have invested in an event hall and perhaps they are purely focussed on large parties rather than the average desi restaurant goer.
There was only two of us. So food should have been fresh and really good, but it wasn't. Kind of disappointed. But I would go back give them another chance.
They moved to aldi but they are insanely expensive and food and quality and quantity not worth it
The place is closed, sign on the door saying that they are moving but new address is not posted.
Depressing food. We went there yesterday and ordered Nihari and Chicken Sabri. It was described as boneless chicken with onions, but honestly when it came out, it looked more like a bunch of onions without a chicken in sight. Let me tell you something- you need a lot of sabr to eat Chicken Sabri. Now, to talk about the Nihari. It was awful and too watery. Actually, it was all water. Horrible. We\'re never going back there again and I recommend this restaurant to no one.
we cater from here quite often and the lunch buffet is excellent. we especially like the chicken tikka and seekh fry. owners are super nice.
Its a nice place, service is good they are attentive. Food is average, the portions are less than what I expected. Prices are very reasonable. I would go there again.
Ehhh it's alright, not the best, and not the worst. They have good service though. There are better places than this.
Lal Qila restaurant had some of the most tasty and delicious desi food I have ever had. The customer service was unprecedented. The reason why I say that is because the service was very fast, and at the end of the meal when we were about to leave I realized that the entire time I was being served by and having wonderful conversation w/ the owner of Lal Qila, Nick, and I have to say that him and his restaurant are great! Five Stars guys! Dont miss out!
We have been there twicw, the first visit was a few months back and the food was ok. We ordered chiken tikka which was ok. The next visit was on this last Saturday nite. We had first visited Al markaz but seeing the loooong line , we went to eat here. We were a little apprehensive after reading few recent reviews of the place but Wanted to try still. The lack of cleanliness actually made us so repulsive that we decided not to eat there and left without ordering. The floor was very dirty and trash was visible. Many tables were unclean. The management should try to train their staff to clean the area properly otherwise they will keep loosing customers. And it was not even very crowded! wanted to try anyhow. The
I went there yesterday and the guy in the white suit taking a peshab in the charga.
Our first two experiences were pleasant. The last visit was a disaster in all areas: bad service, poor quality/taste food, less quantity and poor customer service.
We went on father's day and returned disappointed. The service was hopeless. The food was tasteless. The quantity of the food was less. NEED IMPROVEMENT!
Food was good in quality and taste, my wife rated it average, we both agreed its average to good but not the best. We had Chicken Chargha (good/OK), Frontier Chicken (good, I have eaten it at Sabri Nehari in Chicago, theirs didn't have curry & was better), Hyderabadi Grilled Whole Fish (OK), Chicken Reshmi Kabab (seekh kabab, just OK, could have been better, softer, juicy). We loved Chapati (ulta tawa long/big/thin chapati) & Naan. Service was very good, very attentive staff and owner was there himself on Sunday evening, making sure everything works properly, he asked for our feedback as well. Place is clean, big hall for dining, seating is very good as well, though not much room for legs under the table on boothes, overall its a good restaurant. Everyone can try at least once and form their opinion as to if they wanna come back or not. We may go back there at least once & try other dishes.
We went to lal qila over the weekend and honestly every one of us got sick by the time we got home! We had to return two of their dishes because they tasted funny, there was definitely something wrong with the meat. It tasted funny. Since it just opened we had great expectations. The parathaz were stale and fried a few hours before. Seemed like they served us after reheating them. Another friend of mine ordered chapatis and they smelled like sour dough [khameeri] he couldnt eat it more then a few bites. There was too much kewra essence in biryani and apparently they used low grade rice for it too. It was tasteless. I wouldnt go there again nor would i recommend anyone to go there. Specially if you have kids.
