We were visiting from Turkey and found the experience (the ice cream slinger playing games with whomever was buying ice cream) quite authentic to the Turkish \"tourist experience.\" The ice cream itself was standard Turkish ice cream, a bit thicker and more gooey. I am not sure if they alter the recipe for the Taiwanese (many Asians tend to be lactose-intolerant).

Nice place to get ice cream at the boat wharf near the Danshui MRT station. It is right next to the central stop where people take the boat.
