Nidal Awad was born and raised in the Middle East. As a young kid, Nidal had the ambition to become a chef and also had a dream of running his own business. After graduating from High School, Nidal worked at Sant Gorges College for three years. During that time Nidal received a scholarship from the college to go to Culinary School to become a chef. Nidal graduated in the top of his class with honors. After graduating Nidal found a job at The Grand Park Hotel and was the head chef. After working at the hotel for several years, and getting an ample amount of experience as a head chef, Nidal decided to move to the United States to use his knowledge and experience in a different country. After three years of hard work, Nidal's dream has come true. He is now the owner and head chef of two of the most highly regarded restaurants in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area (Shawarma King and Shawarma House) where he uses his expertise in cooking to create the most delicious Arabic dishes.
