A halal sign is clearly visible on the premises of this restaurant. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.

Nice place to pick up meat, clean and friendly. However, they could use more people on staff. I went when there were a handful of customers and it took about 30 mins to pick up 3 lbs of chicken.
It is a new market and I have been there once. There are plenty of variety of Turkish and some middle Eastern food. Zabihah certificate is on display. No alcohol and tobacco sale. I found the butcher clean and respectful. They did not have beef at that time. I bought lamb. I was comfortable with their cleanliness which is not quite common among zabihah butchers. It is a nice competitor for Sizar's food market. I have to drive 35 minutes from my home but definitely worths that. I may update this after I am there second time. Edit: The lamb was half fat and tissues. I am not sure whether I will try the butcher again.
I am really surprised by the poor reviews below. I went in today for the first time, and was glad to see that another halal market had taken the space that Sizar's inexplicably vacated several years earlier. The butcher was very clean and wore latex gloves when handling the meat, and took my order right away, and I received my order after about five minutes. They have many of the basic middle eastern staples, such as Akkawi Cheese, Frika wheat, labne, mulukhia, spices and more. It is a small shop, and they only have a few vegatables for sale there, but I don't go into these types of stores to shop for vegetables anyway, so be prepared to stop by your local Giant or Superfresh to complete your shopping. As for the proprieter, he couldn't have been nicer to me and my mother, and it is a shame the commenter below had a bad experience. They didn't have much of a selection of sweets today, but they are supposed to be getting more in, including Kunafe. The prices were reasonable, althugh if you shop for halal meat regularly, you know that it is much more expensive than regular meat no matter where you get it. I will definitely return, and I hope others will give it a chance too, especially now that it appears that the Sizar's in Elkridge has also closed, Nazar Market will definitely fill a void in the market.
I went there today and received the most horrible service I have ever received. First, everything is over priced and there is no variety. They have lemons and oranges, but they are so old that they are literally blackened. I asked the owner about some of the things there and he said "You can call the police if you want". I said theres no need to get rude, but then he said "So what, you can sue me". I don't think this guy was acting like a Muslim and frankly I don't want to deal with these sorts of people. I really advise that no one ever goes there, and if you do - you go at your own risk. Its definitely not the place to go if you want a Muslim to treat you like a brother in faith.
