I'm not too happy about this place. We live far from Sacramento so whenever my husband bring something home from here I always check the date and everything is always expired. Always be careful because some things even had fungus on it. We just try and live without any halal places in yuba city since the two halal restaurants that were here are closed now.
When I read the description here I was expecting a halal market and and deli. I was also expecting it to be alcohol free since the reviewer before me said he "plans to eliminate it entirely." Unfortunately, I found out it is not a halal market, it is just a gas station with all the typical haram things in a gas station; alcohol, pork, lotto tickets, cigarettes, hats with marijuana leaves... you get the point. This gas station just happens to have a freezer with halal meat products and they happen to use halal meat in their gas station-quality burgers. To sum it up: It is the only halal place in Yuba city, so if you are in Yuba city and you can't stand to eat seafood or vegetarian then I guess you could go here.
This place is super good. It's hard to find halal places north of Sacramento. The double cheeseburger is super delicious and amazing, it really hit the spot. They make it nice and spicy. I like its country-austere feel. The place is undergoing a transformation from the previous owner. They have a nice and quaint Pakistani/Indian food grocery section. As for the alcohol, the owner seems to have reduced the amount of alcohol being sold and plans to eliminate entirely. . It was reduced from four units down to one, so its definite progress. And they sell doogh, which is blessing because its soooo hard to find doogh north of Sacramento in the far rural areas.
Why does this brother sell hard liquor and beer alongside halal meat? I wouldn't consider this a halal market when they have alcohol. I just can't trust a business on the meat when they sell such a forbidden thing. God comes before money!
