Bear in mind that some of the meat dishes are not Halal. Those that are Halal are clearly marked. My preference here is the chicken kabob and the falafel. Both are really tasty. I thoroughly enjoy their falafel sandwich. I found the other dishes I ate here including the chicken fesanjoon to be rather bland. My wife has had lamb dishes and it has been hit and miss sometimes. There is an excellent bakery/dessert section which they are also renowned for besides being a restaurant.

The food is delicious, and as the previous reviewer said, only lamb is halal. The servers are prompt and friendly. Totally worth trying if you're in Charleston.

Very good food, but only lamb is halal (no chicken). They have several options with the lamb - kabobs, gyro, burger, etc, as well as many veg and seafood options. Small grocery section and fresh bakery.

GoogleOrdered the Reuben sandwich with onion rings, a side salad with ginger dressing & the She Crab Soup. The sandwich was “eh.” It needed something. Added salt, which helped, but still needed something. The soup was fabulous. It came with a roll, which was tasty and great dipped in the soup. The salad was absolutely fabulous! It had fresh mushrooms, spinach, avocado, tomato & cucumbers. Our waitress was simply wonderful, friendly, outgoing, helpful and very chatty, which we liked. To us, that makes our experience more personal. We didn’t get pastries since we ate dinner, but they looked very yummy.

GoogleBest meal we had in the city. Everyone in our group was happy and that doesn’t happen often. The lamb kabob, lamb burger, and cheese burger were talked about the rest of the trip. Desserts were great as well. Highly recommend!

GoogleFound this charm on our walk from a nearby hotel into downtown Charleston. What a treasure this place is for breakfast, lunch, and pastries! We had excellent service by the ladies all 3 times we visited. The breakfast croissant and biscuit sandwiches were delicious. Nice crispy bacon too. The mountain of shrimp salad served was amazing and opting to have it off the croissant was good, as we would have never finished it all. We enjoyed the croissant later that day for a snack. We also had the avocado crab/lobster stacker-yummy! The salad served on the side was just the right compliment. We enjoyed the chocolate eclair and mini apple pie as an afternoon snack. Don't miss the cinnamon twists either! There isn't much atmosphere, but who needs that when there is great food on your table. There is also outside seating, if you choose. All in all, I saved this place as a favorite because of its location, yummy food and amazing pastries, definitely recommend Saffron.
