I’m a NYer here in Savannah nearly 5 years now. THIS PLACE IS THE ONLY REAL HALAL FOOD HERE PERIOD SO GO SUPPORT THEM! It’s pricey with smaller portions but it’s DELICIOUS! I definitely wish more came in the platter because it’s definitely almost $20 for your plate and a can soda. I have a family of 4 so with the price and portions we can only afford to eat here a few times a year instead of weekly like other places.

I had lunch here when I was in Savannah a few weeks ago around May 2019. It is a small hole in the wall place with very limited seating. It appears popular because there was a steady stream of traffic. I had the kofta kebab platter which came with 4 small kebabs, salad, pita bread and a dollop each of babaganoush and hummus. No rice. I felt a bit taken aback that this, served in a styrofoam container, cost $17! The food tasted ok but it wasn't anything exceptional at all and the kebabs needed some spicing up. Glad to have passed by and supported a Muslim business but I can't see myself returning to spend this sort of money when I pass through Savannah again.

My rating would be 5/5 because of the very very delicious shawurma but the only trouble for me was the place which looks untidy..

The place is small and usually standing room only. However the gyro and cheese burghers were delicious. The staff can be more courteous though! Street parking. Prices mildy inflated for type of business.

it is a somewhat smaller locale, and the parking was on the street, and it was a little "dusty" inside, but they did offer a large varity of sandwhiches such as burgers and philly cheesesteaks, and the brother in charge seemed like an honest hard worker with a friendly demeaner..i seen a lot of local westerners in the area pull up on bikes and order take out, so i assume it appeals to people from all walks of life..i just wish it was more than a "hole in the wall"..and i mean it in the most nicest way,..no disrespect..it was a humble couple and all one should care about is the hot warm tasty sandwhiches, but sometimes u want to eat in, and it needs some sprucing up..but food itself is top notch.

Best halal food in the area. I love the kabob platter with hummus and baba ghanoush, and my wife loves the cheeseburger. Everything is cooked to order. My only wish is that they would sell halal meat. They have a small (one rack of shelves) grocery area, but it is mostly fava beans and dates.

We live out of state and very rarely get the absolute treat to stop by Al-Salaam. They have the best gyros I've ever had (and that includes from overseas). But what just puts Al-Salaam head and shoulders above the rest is the service. The owner has went completely out of his way to make us comfortable and cater to special requests that would be scoffed at in just about any other establishment. Some of the best food I've ever had with unbelievable service...with no exaggeration at all, this place is truly a diamond in the rough.

All the food is cooked to order and catering is a treat on Eid days.
