Not sure how the poster below (hanif-onlyhalal) has this information. I haven't checked out the downtown restaurant, but this one serves no alcohol. I also had the lamb schawarma and it was indeed lamb (yes, I can tell the difference). In fact, the so-called "Arabic Schawarma" that they serve is one of the best I've had in North America, masha'Allah. Not sure about the owner not being Muslim - that is possible. Most of the employees aren't. The meat is halal, though I haven't asked for the certificate. However, when I visited this place last year, I was told only the chicken is halal (and the manager rebuked an employee for not remembering which meat is halal). On a more recent visit, I was told everything is halal. I don't think that if they were lying, they would first just say chicken and then say it's everything. However, I will ask for a certificate next time I visit, insha'Allah.
