My favourite Indian Thali in the whole of London! Food is on point here, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Very central location as well.
Consistently good authentic food.
Authentic, flavourful, Indian food, which equals the best I have eaten in homes in India - on my travels, as well as great street food. Plus good kebabs. Friendly staff. Nice interiors - good wall decoration. Prices were reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended
Went at about 19:00 on Friday evening with spouse and baby (in a pram). Unable to see halal sign on window outside; figurine of Ganesh at entrance amongst other deco. Plenty of empty tables at the entrance level but asked to wait until table arranged to accommodate sleeping baby in pram. After 10 minutes, told that table was ready - but this was on lower level. No lift or ramp available; were told to carry pram down to that level (despite baby sleeping soundly inside). This was not acceptable to us and they declined to shift around empty tables to accommodate us at entrance level so we left. The staff did not seem at all bothered whether we dined there or not. CONCLUSION: * Unable to see halal sign - if it is there, not prominent enough to be seen. * Not child friendly - if you have a pram
Our first time to try the Masala Zone restaurant, we opted for the one in Soho as it was closest one to us. The place was nicely decorated, quite busy. We came a bit early so waited a few minutes till our table was ready. The menu is quite interesting with many options, as it was our first we wanted to try different utensils and share which was a great idea. We ordered the Samosa Chaat and Chicken 65 as starters, both dishes were delicious. For mains we went with chicken chops, butter chicken, lamb biryani and Malai chicken tikka, all tasted amazing but my favorite was the Malai chicken and lamb biryani. We also took the steamed rice, black dal and Raita as sides. Desert we opted for Gulab Jamun, mango sorbet, mango srikhand and gajar halwa, I favorite was the gulab followed by the sorbet but not a fan of the other two but that’s my taste as at the end everything was eaten 😋. The service was amazing, very helpful staff with friendly attitudes. Will definitely go again.
