Tandoori Nights

Most pathetic customer service I have ever witnessed and could not agree more with the review by sheikh711 blow. Given the very limited number of halal eateries, the restaurant gets good traffic but it is a 1 or 2 in terms of taste and quality of food on most of the items except maybe a couple of grilled foods like chicken tikka. The owner/Manager is extremely arrogant and rude. When I complained about some entree served to us in the name of Nihari (nowhere even close to nihari)...I was given a reply in urdu language basically saying that I don\'t care how you feel...just eat and get out of here. I sincerely feel bad for those living in the area and go there due to not having many options.

I went there last night, Tandoori chicken leg was great but Chicken karahi was no where near a karahi and bland. Customer service was not pleasant unless you are a hot chic. Well didn\'t impress me at all....

Seating is limited. I wish they had more beef dishes than just seekh kabob. I like their tandoori leg, chicken boti, chicken tikka masala, lamb kabob and karahi chicken.

I purchased a Groupon last week for this restaurant, and when I went to pick up my order, they refused to accept it. They claimed that they could not accept the Groupon until the next day, which is not true because Groupons have no "future start date". At one time I had planned on using Tandoori Nights to cater my daughter's upcoming first birthday, but their lack of customer service, along with the decline in food quality over the past year just shows me that that would not be a good idea. I am very disappointed and do not plan to return to a place where customers come last.

After spending 3 weeks or so in the north west US this was our Oasis in the desert! It tasted like a five when we ate it but I know that had more to do with our hunger. BBQ stuff and Chicken Biryani was great! Goat

We were at this place couple of weeks ago and was very happy with the service, food was good and bathroom was clean. I confirmed before going and was told everything is zabihah halal. It is very close to the freeway and parking is not a problem.

Tried their daal : good Chicken tikka leg : good Garlic naan and plain naan : good Beef seekh kabob: not bad Nice chutneys Very good chaye tea Good service Would try again .

Contrary to some negative reviews in this post, I didn't experience bad customer service. Before ordering, I asked if they accept credit card. They were willing to do it for order of $20 plus. I know there are some desi restaurants that take cash only no matter how big is your order. Food was good. Biryani's portion size was quite large. It is not a large restaurant. Big groups will have tough time accommodating during rush hours.

The chicken is not hand slaughtered and not halal. This has been confirmed by local scholars. I was a big fan of tandoori nights but will stop going there. It is a shame owner is no longer carrying fully certified hand slaughtered chicken.

Average food! Horrible service!

This is a decent Indo/Pak restaurant. There is nothing that really makes them stand out. Although, the "full halal menu," "alcohol free" Indian restaurants in Sacramento are few and far between, so therefore I recommend this place to all the Muslims in the Sac area.

hmmm! about the restaurant ....good location, average food and worst customer service.....Manners are the most important thing. All the customers are not treated equally, heard and seen tons of dissatisfied people ONLY due to the rudeness and illiterate responses by the staff!. Would never go back!

Went here for dinner and it was okay. The food was decent -- we had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Naans and Lamb Biryani. It was cooked well and tasted nice. The prices are not too bad and the place is neat and clean. The only issues I had were that the seating is really limited and it can be hard to find open tables and seats. Also, the place is small so the setting is tight. Service also needs to improve.

Excellent food and service. The sitting was not bad as well. Price is reallt reasonable. A MUST TRY!

My 3 star rating is on the food. I would give 1 out of 5 in service. The tall guy with a big belly usually in the front who takes orders has an attitude problem, he thinks he is still in Pakistan the way he treats people with disrespect. I would love to go here more often however I am hesitant because of the guy's attitude. Every time I go there he always ask for cash, the days I don't have cash to give him I charge my credit card, I have seen it with my own eyes a dozen of times his credit card machine on what he actual charges is different then what he inputs in the cash register. It makes me believe he wants to show less in taxes, not a good business practice. If the owners is reading this please change your staff or change the attitude of your current staff.

I liked this place. I come to north Ca every now and then for business and I find this place to be better tasting than most of therestaurants I have eaten at in Northern California for south Asian food.

Went to this restaurant today and LOVING it! The food is delicious and affordable. We came right before Maghrib and the place is already packed! And until we finished dining, the people keeps coming in non stop. Since the place is small, many have to wait for others to finish their dinner. The good thing is, this place attracts both muslims and non muslims. I hope they will expand the restaurant soon since the business is good (but don't change the price LOL!). One thing to improved though: Their customer service. Maybe they do not have enough employee or maybe there is too many customers today, hence the customer service is rather dissappointing. Although we have to drive like 40 minutes to go to restaurant, we will do it again anytime! :)

I have only eaten here once and it was the tikka masala...I found it to be quite good. I was a bit surprised to find they were closed between 3 and 5; lunch is usually right after Jumu'ah prayer but it won't be at this place again with those hours. It was a struggle to get here during the afternoon traffic only to find they were closed. They did serve us, though they made it clear we were to eat and get out. I'm a bit unclear on how "quality" has to be "Bay Area", but I would say their food is pretty good. Their hours are inconvenient though. Update: went there for the 3rd time last Thursday. Guy behind the counter would not return the Salaam to me nor to the other brother with me (we are both white). The brother & his wife and child before us got their meal in less than 15 minutes, it took us over an hour to get ours while the other Pakistani customers who came in after us were getting theirs right away. The food was good - but their service was poor.

Small but great clean place. Owner is a muslim from Pakistan and he actually greeted us with a smile and very friendly attitude. Customer service was great and food is great too. We tried several dishes and everyone of them was way above average. Prices were fair and they actually didn't charge us for tea. I would definitely recommend and go back for more.

We have been eating at Tandoori Night since they opened and have never had a bad meal. We have used them for catering as well. Their food is fresh and authentic. I like the chicken tikka masala despite the earlier comments. They have recently begun offering a Sunday special of halva aloo puri which is fantastic. The puris are so light and heavenly,I could eat 6 or more!

Finally, a desi place which knows what the customers desire when it comes to the taste. The staff was nice, kind and down to earth. Chiken Tikka Boti was off the hook; never had anything like that before. Haleem was great too. This restaurant definitely tops my list among all restaurants in the Sacramento area!

I ate here the other day and i have to say the chicken tikka was good and the naans were great. I liked that the employees as well as the owner were very nice always smiling only thing i didnt like was the chicken tikka masala which is my favorite dish the other two major restaurants in Sac have these guys beat by a long shot on the chicken tikka masala and because that i my favorite dish i am sorry to say i will not be visiting Tandoori Night again but i will recommend for you to go try it. Place was very busy it is small they will have to expand soon

We have already eaten at Tandoori Night several times since it opened in Roseville and were so impressed that we decided to get them to cater for a large party we held. The food was for 60 people and it was amazing. There was plenty of meat in all the dishes (even in the restaurant, they are very generous with the meat in the dishes, especially the nihari..... Ijaz bai, please don't change that:) The kadai chicken tasted a little different in the restaurant than at the party but it is to be expected when food is made in such large quantities. The shish kabob and nan were excellent. I would recommend them to anyone for catering and to make Tandoori Night a weekly habit, as we have. Inshallah, may Allah let your business to prosper boundlessly, ameen.

As many reviewers have already mentioned, this is Bay Area quality food in Sacramento. Now you do not have to drive a 100 miles to get excellent chicken leg piece or Nihari, etc.

Alhamdulillah, Great Quality food at reasonable prices. No longer have to drive to bay area to eat quality food. Kabobs and tandoori items are excellent.

Alhamdulillah the wait is over in Sacramento for a quality desi restaurant. It's really hard to rate one dish or the other since all are super tasty but do not miss Chicken Boti Kabab, Karahi Chicken and Achar Gosht. This place Inshallah will flourish and Sacramentans will continue to enjoy this place. Do not take this for just another Indo/Pak restaurant! It's the same food we drove over 100 miles to eat in Pakwan, Fremont several times.

Finally, Bay area quality and prices comes to Sacramento. The food was great, particularly enjoyed the tandoori items. Prices are very reasonable, we had a party of 10 adults and 5 kids and the bill was under $100. Highly recommended!

Great Food! Friendly staff. I used to travel to the Pakwan on 16th Street in the Mission of S.F. to order their pakoras and Chicken Tiki Masala. Guess what, now I can drive twenty minutes and enjoy their wonderful menu. Also, do not forget the Tandoori Chicken! this is my FAVORITE restaurant. SIX stars!

From pakwaan of bay area fame, the food is very much bay area like. Place is a little small, will easily outgrow it given the high quality of the food. We tried the usual suspects - karahi chicken, karahi lamb, $1 naans, chicken boti and seekh kabob. Everything was just perfect, kabobs were amazing. The only negative was they may need to cut down just a little bit on the salt. 9/10 rating from me.
