About Tandori

Tandori serves halal Indian food in Eaton Centre's food court. 'Tandor' is the Indian word for oven, and refers to the clay ovens traditionally used in India to cook marinated meats, vegetables and Naan breads that give the cuisine earthy undertones via the powerful heat generated inside such ovens. Tandori cooking as such, refers to cuisine thus inspired by recipes and cooking styles in Northern India. Tandori serves craveable items like Butter Chicken, Shrimp Korma, and Curry Beef served with Basmati rice and Tandor baked Naan bread which have become increasingly popular with Canadians from all walks of life.

Unfortunately the worst Indian food I've ever had. The chicken in the butter chicken dish had very little taste as it seemed to have been cooked apart from the sauce, while the sauce itself was very bland. I could barely taste the flavorful spices in the palak paneer because overall it was spiced way too hot. Also, about half of the potatoes on my plate were undercooked and inedible. I was really disappointed.

The food is bland, the chicken dishes don't use breast meat, and the prices are high for the quality of food. The concept is great (Indian fast food) but they really need to improve their quality. I also question the halal authenticity of this place.

Found out about this place just yesterday when visiting the downtown Eaton Center where Tandori is located! Very Clean and very friendly service! Halal certificate on display. Very reasonable price. Honestly, this is the first time I eat a very delicious Tandori in a Montreal restaurant. I tried the platter for $9.99 that includes a salad, indian style potatoes, basmati rice, and 3 diffirent curry recipes, and Naan bread!
