My friend and I ate here for the first time since new ownership the other day. The food was fantastic! So tasty and enjoyable. A very warm welcome from the staff, very friendly. Also had a nice chat with the owner, Mush. A lovely guy. Very passionate about his restaurant. Will definitely be returning.
Visited Barry for a birthday weekend and wanted a curry. Wow The Curry House didn’t disappoint, excellent service and recommendation of chef specials I’ve not had before food was exceptional. And have to say the best onion bhaji ever
This restaurant is just amazing. Have visited multiple times since it opened a month or so. All the food is cooked fresh and the flavours are divine. Onion Bajis are a must! The size of a cricket ball! Popadoms so fresh. Chefs recommendations are special tried something different each time and all great so far, the bread so light. The staff are so attentive and the owner deserves all their success. Friendly but not intrusive. If you like Indian food give it a go - eat in or take out. Personally I think it knocks spots off Raj Kinara so lovely to have a fantastic local place for good Indian food in Barry. Please show your support.
The new Best Indian Restaurant in Barry. Lovely food, lovely staff and reasonable prices. First, some basics. We were not rushed, we spent a pleasant two hours plus on an evening out. I hate places where they come and accost you as soon as you're sat down to see if you're ready to order. Secondly, the food was served hot and steaming, and remained warm until we had finished eating. So many places serve luke warm food that you have to scoff down as quickly as possible before it is stone cold. The food: plain poppadoms were tasty and crunchy, served with a good pickle selection of onion chutney, a nice mango chutney, a thick minty raitha and a scrummy mixed pickle. For starters we had the mix starter platter (12.95) which consisted of chicken tikka, lamb and chicken sheek kebabs with salad, all of which were nice and tasty; two onion bahjees which were fresh and crispy; and chicken suka which was very rich and quite hot, delicious. We also had Murgh chom chom which was a green bell pepper stuffed with marinated chicken, very nice and rather filling. For our main courses we had a chicken and mushroom curry, my wife's favourite which was not on the menu but they offered to make it for her anyway and it was very good. I had my go to curry when I visit a new curry house which is Chicken jalfrezi and it was great, fresh tasting veg with a slight firmness, succulent cubes of tandoori chicken and just the right amount of heat from the chillis, hot but not too hot. So many restaurants you visit say a dish is hot when it definitely is not, so disappointing. Our third main was Murghi masala, a rich chicken dish with a minced lamb masala sauce, full of taste and again pleasantly hot. Peshwari naan was fluffy and perfectly cooked. Good pilau rice. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies so we took a doggy bag home. Luckily we don't have a dog so we had lunch the next day too. Wine was a nice Merlot, not too bad at £14.95. The only thing that could be improved is the décor and lighting, to give it more restaurant ambience rather than cafe. I guess this will happen in due course. It's a new business concentrating on excellent food and service. We will be back, regularly.
First time at this new restaurant, and wow it didn’t disappoint!! The service was extremely good , with very friendly, accommodative staff. Nothing was too much trouble. As for the food- everything was freshly prepared. And Extremely tasty! The onion bhaji’s were the best we’ve had! If in doubt- try it! You will not be disappointed!! Mush and his staff will be sure to look after you.
