This place has very good Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Samosa. They used to have dedicated separate restaurant, now it is a partitioned area shared with their grocery store, If you like quiet place to eat, just plan on doing a to-go.
not a bad place to eat, owners were Arab, but alhamdulillah overall good service
We ordered chicken chapli kabab and there was hardly any chicken in it. Complete rip off. Looks like it was just daal (lentils) grinded it make it look like chicken. When asked how it would take to make paan, the manager/waiter said it would take 5 - 10 minutes...I mean come on! We only needed two paans and I know it only takes about 2 or 3 minutes max. Overall, customer service was decent but food was totally not worth it. First and last time here.
Authentic Pakistani food. Seekh kabab and chicken tikka are good. Weekends buffet are nice too. Best for take out!
Only Pakistani restaurant in town. Chicken tikka masala and goat biryani are really good. Nice and clean place.
I tried the restaurant so far around 10 times. Most of the times with my wife only, but few times in addition to my 2 in-laws. You can tell that there are many Muslims working in the place (brothers & sisters wearing Islamic attire) The Bazar has a big variety of Halal food, packed frozen and a fresh meat and chicken are sold. Spices, Indian and Arabic products also. Our Rating: - Service: 5/5 (very helpful and co-operative) - Quality of food: 5/5 (cooked well, fresh) - Taste: 4/5 - Cleanliness: 2/5 (Needs improvement!)
The young man at the bazaar gives the best service out of most other halal meat and grocery stores and any other apna location.
Tried lunch buffet, they had 3 meat curries and 4 vege entries. Taste was pretty much acceptable. considering no other halal options, its a blessing. Deserts were simply bland.
When we first tried out the restaurant in November 2009, the food was good, really good. By the time we had moved here in February 2010, the place had changed owners. A few items were taken off the menu (bihari kabob, for example), and what was left was simply not as good as it had been previously. The store is not a good experience to shop in at all. Meat is not good quality, and the people cutting chicken appear to be really clueless. They also do not speak English (nor Urdu. They are Spanish speaking), which just causes more hassle. Frozen items have been allowed to thaw, then re-frozen (this is an issue with meat items, like burger patties, etc). There is now a large wall of hindi movies (I really do think that it's gotten bigger), and if someone is in to buy movies, forget about getting anyone to ring you up. Movies do appear to take a top priority in this "halal" shop. Most people shop here because it is slightly better than the other desi halal shop in Jacksonville. I, however, have decided to no longer shop here. It's just not worth it. The prices are too high for substandard meat.
i went to jacksonville for a conference. they don't have many halal options in the city. apna bazar is clean, food is great and delicious. we tried buffet on two different weekdays. although the items were the same, there was plenty of option. i went with my wife and daughter and they both enjoyed the food as well. we even got takeout buffet one of the days for our hotel room and microwaved it the next day. apna bazar is a grocery store and a restaurant although they are separate with separate entrance. the service was great and they were very accommodating.
Excellent food and good service.
Assalamu Alaikum, I am a regular shopper at the market. It is clean and carry fresh meat and chicken. A wide variety of groceries are offered as well. The naan bread is offered fresh and very good. I would surley recommended it.
salaamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu In brief: I got half way to the door, and couldn't continue... There is a big advertisement for selling hooka and tobacco inside. I discovered there are MUSIC videos played on the tv. Furthermore, They participate in the Annual BEER and MUSIC Festival. Halal is not exclusive to describing food, it encompasses every aspect of a muslim's life. Halal is whatever is permissible/lawful under the shari'ah, not based on our whims and desires, and/or ignorance of our deen. It is upon all of us to learn the difference between halal and haram; learn our deen and implement it.
