In 2001, Wellington's iconic establishment The Shamrock, became home for Indus Indian Restaurant. Indus is located in Thorndon, one of Wellington's earliest suburbs, with numerous 19th century architecture and adjacent to the Government precinct. The cuisine style is North Indian Punjabi tandoori cooking with marinated meat, chicken, fish, paneer, rotis and naans being cooked in the tandoor oven. All food is gluten free and vegan variants can be made.
