About Halal Restaurant

The Halal Restaurant, the oldest Indian eatery in East London, was established in 1939 and is still going strong with over 70 successful years in business in the same grade II listed building and location since 1939. For us to survive for this long means we must be doing something right. That something is simply great tasting food at very affordable prices. The secret of this great tasting food is due to the use of only the very best ingredients available to us combined with the skills of our master chef. We are always in constant dialogue with our suppliers to make sure we are supplied with the very best in quality of products. We do not compromise on the raw ingredients used in our cooking.

Halal food is served here - the food is average have been there three times now. The first occasion was the best and perhaps now there is a different chef. I remember having the lamb biryani the first time which was good. It is a traditional indian restaurant and has been around for a very long time. The interior is simple, the food priced reasonable considering its location. It gets real busy during lunch time because of its proximity to the city. It is quieter in the evening. Note that alcohol is also served in the premises.
