The owners of this restaurant are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.
At Shatila Food Products, founded in 1979 by Riad Shatila, bakers labor lovingly as did old world artisans thousands of years ago in the Middle East. Tissue-thin pastry swabbed with rich, pure butter, enfolds crunchy fresh nuts and a sweet sugar syrup. All natural...no preservatives. Authentic, old world baking in modern, high volume ovens.

A must stop for dessert on any trip to Detroit. Love their selection of icecream, especially mango and pistachio. And their baclavas are crazy delicious! Extensive variety of baked goods, so you keep on coming back for more!
Really good little meat pies and cakes! I recommend the little strawberry cake.
lol omg..amazing ice cream and there girls that work there lol... and the cakes... very nice clean place
Amazing Place! Great Service! I Had Mango And Coconut Ice Cream! Yummy! Took Some French Pastries Home And They Were Delicious! :)
Must try use Swiss roll chocolate cake French pastry section as it is very low in cream but really very tasty. All in all it's the best bakery in town
Went here during ISNA weekend and it was crazy packed, although our local friends told us it\'s always pretty packed on the weekends. We tried the pistachio and mango ice creams, both of which were very good, but the mango was the best Ive ever had since it had actual pieces of mango in it as well! We also had the kanafeh which was amazing. Make sure to put the rose syrup on top of it! Nice interior of the restaurant with a circular design and a modern look. Note, wait times may be long if you go on a busy time.
Everything is tasty and delicious, you can't go wrong with anything here!
Great baklava and French pastries (especially chocolate mousse in a boat on weekends) - customer service not the best- always crowded- grab a number and wait
Best place for baklawas but I enjoyed thier pistasio ice cream. Great place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. When we went there this place was busy.
BUYERS BE AWARE! Do not ORDER from here! The first time I had their baklawa was at a friends house last Ramadan. He had told me he ordered it from Shatila. Their baklawa was so good that I even thought their baklawa was better than the one I have had in Paterson, NJ which is about 45 min away from where I live (which would also be more fresh). So this Ramadan, my wife surprised me with a big tray of baklawa which she ordered from Shatila. To our disappointment, the baklawa was crumbly and extremely dry to the extent I told my wife "Maybe they forgot to send the syrup with it" and my wife described it like "I was eating hay." So we thought, everyone makes mistakes, that is why you have a customer service number. We emailed them the same day... no response. We called them later and told them about the baklawa and asked them to either ship a new one or give us a refund. They said they couldn't do either. They said the best they could do was give a 5% discount on our next order! What makes them think we would order again?!?!?! Unfortunately, these people do not look at their long term gains and are only focused on short term. A little lesson in business: 1. Customer is always right 2. If you had sent us a new box, not only would we have overlooked the mistake, we would have told everyone about your great baklawa and even greater customer service. 3. For one box of baklawa you lost many customers and potential customers. I ordered from you guys because a friend ordered from you and had good things to say about your baklava. And when I tried it the first time it was really good. Now not only would I not buy from you, I would warn others that bought from you or that want to buy from you, not to buy from you. Their baklawa at their shop may be good, but NEVER ORDER FROM HERE!
Stopped here while visiting to get some of their popular baklawa and found they have a lot more than just baklawa (cookies/pastries/drinks etc...) Very nice, clean place.
I love it and I can't leave with out Bagh'lawa
The expresso was good but way too many pastries. Kind of get into shock trying to choose which to buy. Very tasty and and enjoyable experience. The only other drawback Is the separate counters for everything so if you want coffee and and pastry you have 2 counters to go to.
Amazing baklavas and I love their ice cream.
Went here years ago. Wonderful contemporary atmosphere, a variety of beautiful desserts and pastry. This is THE Shatila bakery whose purple box of baklava you always see passed around the masjid in Ramadan.
I went here after being referred by my cousin who raved about it. She said it's usually very busy. In addition to Middle Eastern pastries they have a lot of mini french pastries too. I had mini cheesecake, fruit tarts and other yummy things that I dont remember. The inside is beautiful and a must stop if your in the area and love sweets!
My favorite desert place. I take my out of town relatives there to impress them. Everything i have tried so far has been reallly good. Birthday cakes are delicisous. Especially the pineapple one.
Their ice cream is really good . We got there right as they were closing so we werent able to get anything else.
My wife and I love this place ever since we moved to the area. We take all our guest here. The ice cream and cakes are really great! It's a nice, chill place to relax. A must try if you're coming to Dearborn.
Beautiful atmosphere, geat pastries & sweets. Snacks are not that great.
OMG this place is amazing.. the icecreams are to die for.. I mean u have the most rare flavors, but each one is better then the next. I love apricot, pineapple, mango, pistachio and the list goes on. Many of my relatives hate USA icecream, because they feel it doesnt have the same flavor they can get "back at home" haha but this place is a hit with all my relatives. Everytime they visit us in detroit, they make us take them out for some shatila.. and if we ever visit them, they want us to bring their lady finger baklawa.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with a slight sweet tooth :-)
The new location for Shatila is stunningly beautiful. It is spacious and allows an amazing variety of sweets to be displayed. The atmosphere is definitely superb. I recommend sticking with the Middle Eastern sweets -- the European ones are beautiful but mostly just fancy frosting decorations on plain cake. The ice cream is expensive but very good, especially the apricot. It is always very busy and you have to be very aggressive to be served; the employees can be brusque in their effort to rush you along. They prefer to have you order a boxed set of mixed baklava to save them the trouble of making a new order to suit you. Worth taking out-of-town visitors to.
Excellent pastries and home-made ice-creams. Clean place and good decor.
One word- AMAZING. The decor is beautiful and the food is delicious. The French pastries are absolutely breath taking. The fresh carrot juice is also very good!
The best Baklava I have every had. Great place to just go for desserts.
Best ice cream and pastries I have ever had. They have a nice atmosphere and beautiful location.
The decor will blow you away. You should stop by just to take a peek even if you don't buy a think. Lots of french pastries but there are not great. On the other hand, the middle eastern pastries are excellent. Mango ice cream is OK.
Excellent decor with the new place on Warren. Great ice creams with flavors not available everywhere. Their Baklawa rules.
They have the best Baklawa.
