The good thing is the clean fresh meats. Indian and Pakistani groceries mainly. Spices are good. I tried their restaurant once last year it's below average. Some Rice is cheaper than near by Arab groceries

I think Apna Bazar in Columbus is over rated. I bought some meat from them last month and wasn't happy. They don't have any sense how to cut meat. Seems like they just hired some rookies and gave them the machine and meat to cut. So meat is out of list. I have heard mixed things about their food but again I believe they use the meat from their own shop which means if the meat cuts are not good then why wasting money on food. Lets talk about groceries. their prices are $1 higher than Indian groceries and Patel brothers. I have been to Apna Bazar stores in other cities and states and never had any complains. They are the best in their cities and have raised the bar. Columbus Apna Bazar is not even close to that.

I brought carryout food from the kitchen, food was average. I have noticed quality difference between ordering food from appna bazar store vs Tandoori gril which is next door. Both places served food from same kitchen. I would suggest you better go to Tandoori gril counter to order food for better taste.

The good: 1. They have several 'desi' items that cannot be found in the Arab-run stores 2. I've heard their prepared food is very good, but have never tried it myself. The bad: 1. The customer service is terrible. People always seem to be in a bad mood, hard to find, and reluctant to help. (grocery section)

Mainly only a carryout place, they recently opened a restaurant next door. Their biryani was ok, not as good as the hydro biryani at Venky's Spice House (which isn't open any more). Their food tends to be very very spicy, I had trouble eating it and my husband and kids didn't touch it. Samosay and gulab jamon were good.

We really liked Apna Bazaar, some menu items more than others, naturally. Their biryani is hit-or-miss, and of course depends on the freshness of the ingredients, especially chicken. Sometimes you can taste that the meat is pretty old -- it has that frozen and smelly taste in your mouth. Otherwise, food is really good, especially seekh kebobs, as well as bun kebobs & haleem. I do wish they had more vegetarian options.

I had the goat biryani, it was too spicy and the meat was horrible. We also had the bun kabab which was fine. The food is definitely not worth the price. I thought since they sell meat the goat biryani would have good tender meat, but I was wrong.

The food is awesome, maybe best in C-bus, and the prices are right. There are two bare plastic tables with plastic chairs to sit if the uncles haven't taken them already. Not much in terms of a grocery store -- the main attraction is the take out cooking!

I have been to the place many times. I like their food very much. Prices are vey reasonable. I like their fresh bread too. I used to call them like 10 -15 minutes before I pick up my hot order :). The owners are known Muslims and are very nice people.

I tried Apna Bazar two weeks back and i did not like the food. I ordered a mutton qorma and the meat was rubbery and old. When i mentioned this to the owner he was not apologetic. He replaced the dish for me and the next time it had a hair in it. I had heard good things about this place but that is not what i found. The owners need to check the quality of the food before serving it.

The owners here are really nice. The food is good, but more of a home-made taste than a restaurant taste to it. I enjoy going here but the prices are definitely higher than average (even on the halal meat) and portion size doesn't match the price. They also don't give enough raita with the meals. Compared to other places though, this is probably the most authentic type desi food you will get around Columbus, so I can't complain.

The best desi halal food in the area, very delicious food for a very affordable price. I was here for 4 months from Chicago on a project and used to eat here almost every day. The menu covers enough territory to make several meals for anyone with an interest in Indian or Pakistani food. My favorite meal was the tandoori chicken with the biryani rice. The staff was very friendly and professional, specially the Manager Mr. Mirza and his colleague Ayub. I highly recommend this palce to everyone.

Great Grocery Store, even sells halaal meat! Authentic Pakistani taste to the food! Tandoori Chicken was perfect. Cant beat the fresh Tandoori Naan either. Both Mr. Shabbar and his colleague Mr. Mirza were very courteous and hospitable. We will certainly return to check out other dishes.

Excellent food and service, very clean place, halaal store and restaurant. We had seekh kebob and tandurri chicken, very well seasoned and spicy. Green cream soda was something new I tried, they have lots of deserts too, gulam jamboo and other mithais. Very inexpensive and reasonable, we will be back there again soon.

Apna Bazaar has now a full carry out/eat in menu and they are also doing catering for parties at a very reasonable rate. They have tasty and fresh Naans ($1.00), Seekh Kababs -Beef or Chicken ($2.00), Bun Kababs with Fries (3.49), Biryani, Pulao, Qorma, Haleem, Chicken Tikka, Nihari, Karahi Gosht and alot more for less than 10 dollar each. Their portions are huge. This is the one and only halal pakistani authentic restaurant. They also have fresh chicken corn soup and samosas. Highly recommended as this kinda food is hard to find in Columbus even in Ohio anywhere else. Mr. Shabbar and Mirza Sahab are very friendly people and always ready to serve you in best possible way.
