Anatolia Buffet & Kabab House

Food was excellent. Had variety of dishes including Sikendar Kabab, Karniyaric (Egg Plant Dish with Meat), Adas (lental Soup) and Adana Kabab. Absolutely great. Had complimentary bread with beans. Dinner items were little on the expensive side (dinner portions usually are), but portions were large, enough where all of us had to make a take out. Would definitely return to try other items. Highly recommended.

We\'ve started going for lunch once they shifted to a halal menu and are very pleased. There are some standard dishes (Moussaka) and doner chicken in the buffet and usually something new. Recently had the fried haddock which was a pleasant surprise. Their bulgur pilaf made with vegetables is a wonderful alternative to rice, which they also have. A choice of soup is included in the buffet. The chicken soup is rich and lemony, and the bread is always fresh and light. I highly recommend going for a quick but quality lunch. In addition to the buffet, they make excellent grilled kebabs - try the chicken adana, delicately spiced, very tender.

I live just around the corner and I have been there more than a few times. Each time, I try different items on the menu, hoping that it will be better the next time around. But it never is. I cannot believe that this passes for authentic Turkish food. The food is just so bad! I have eaten Turkish food that have tasted so much better at other restaurants. I wonder if the food has been "watered" down to suit North American tastes? It is also way too expensive, given that the food is so bad. Lumping huge portions of bad food for the exorbitant price does not make it right. Lastly, like others have said the service is bad, the waitresses all look and behave like they don't want to be working there.

This is by far the best halal restaurant in Boston. I get tired of the same 10 dishes on every Turkish restaurant menu in the US. If you look at the menu online for this place, you'll see a menu similar to any other Turkish restaurant's menu. If you go in person, they have a 2nd menu with amazing food I had never seen or heard of at any other Turkish restaurant, and a 3rd option off the "buffet" which appears to be similar food I imagine Turks eat at home. Everything tastes amazing, even the regular 10 dishes every Turkish restaurant has, and I've never had anything close to being disappointing here. Who knew that people deep fry kabobs? Portions are very large.

after reading previous reviews and before going to the restaurant, I thought people were exaggerating. It turns out their reviews were accurate. I used to visit this restaurant quite often, there food is actually good. However, service is horrible. It is as if they are giving you charity as opposed to you being their customer. They would neglect you for long periods of time even if the restaurant was almost empty. They don't apologize when they make mistakes in your order and actually make you feel as if you have done something wrong. I actually used to put up with their attitude and slow service until my last visit. The lady who greeted us was in such a bad mood and had a terrible facial expression. Her attitude was unbelievable. She was almost yelling at us for no reason. It was almost unreal, it was so bad that I actually decided to take my family and leave before even ordering. It is a shame that a restaurant with good food is being put down by bad customer service. If you would like to chew on good food and feel totally frustrated at the same time go to this restaurant.

The food is very good but it is EXPENSIVE ($15+) which does not bother me because the portions are huge. But practically there is NO service. We had to get up every time when we needed anything including ordering food, getting water, or anything. If I go back, it will only be to-go.

We had food from the prepared section. The portions were large but the food wasn't particularly good. It was very greasy. We have not tried from the menu though. There is a large variety of appetizers and those were good.

The servings are generous but the food is not good. The baklava and rice are not fresh. The restrooms are really dirty and smelly. They don't make your food fresh when you order it. It's already sitting there in the buffet and they take it from there.

Had the chance to eat there on a Tuesday night. They close at 10 pm...but let us sit and eat beyond 10. Wouldnt call the place fine dining, but more of a diner type/ fast food resturant. Service was great, but they do serve alcohol. Food was pretty good. We had the mixed grill and the spinach filled chicken, a turkish dish. I think the kebabs war alright, but didnt care too much for the chicken with spinach. The lentil soup was good, and the bread and humus was awesome.

The meat here is not always halal. We do have to enquire each time we visit and the waitstaff then inform us of the halal items on the menu.

Love the food here: authentic, scrumptious, generous portion sizes, great bang for your buck. Two hungry people can easily share one dish. The waitstaff are generally very friendly but not very attentive or especially prompt (they take your order fairly promptly but are not so quick to refill water, clear the table, or get the bill). But with food this good and prices so low, service is not an issue for me. If you are in the company of hungry meat-loving guys, this is the place to take them. I highly recommend their mixed grill plate. And you can finish off the meal with Turkish coffee or tea served in those cute little cups.

This restaurant has been a longstanding establishment in the Brookline Village, but only in recent years has their cuisine shifted to Turkish. The owner kept the name because many customers who frequented previously continued to do so even after the menu change. The appetizer bread and adana kabab are excellent, and the entrees are priced reasonably. I didn't realize they were halal, however. The waitstaff are friendly and fashionable, but don't expect them to refill your water.

Excellent Turkish food, very clean premises and friendly staff. I eat here on a regular basis and have no complaints.
