311 New Upper Changi Road, Singapore, SG
Founded in 1926 by Chan Hinky, the first Polar Café opened its doors at 51 High Street. Charting its growth along with Singapore, the Café weathered the World War II, thrived through the aftermath and continued to grow as our country modernized and prospered. In 1986, Polar Café moved to its new premises at Raffles Place, accompanied with the opening of a factory at Leng Kee Road. A decade later, continual growth led to the addition of several outlets. The company has since been renamed Polar Puffs & Cakes. In 1998, due to the increased demand, the production facility was moved to a larger site in Woodlands. Today, Polar Puffs & Cakes is a familiar and well-loved presence in food-appreciating Singapore, with a wide local network of 30 outlets and bistros, along with over 300 expanding distribution through petrol stations and convenience stores.

15/12/25 at 1:45pm.- Walked by & on impulse, we bought a 1/2 priced cake and 2 puffs with new filling “Ayam Masak Merah” (spicy sweet chicken) Verdict: BROWNIE CAKE $14.40 (UP $28.80 ) 👍 had walnut bits inside and chocolate shavings at the sides 👍 Altbough rich, the cake was not cloyingly sweet, moist and quite yummy. 👍 square shape so it can be cut into 8 servings as dessert 👍 at 50% off, the cake was good value. It was a freshly made item on promotional price, not a “reduced to clear” so this was a great buy AYAM MASAK MERAH PUFF (2 PCs $6.50, UP $3.70 each) 👎 made with real butter which turned out to be quite OILY - we had it for tea break after warming up in the toaster and it was oily fingers and lips! 👎 NON EXISTENT filling - see the photo. This is an OVERPRICED item that is NOT WORTH BUYING. Service was by a friendly Ms Rohani who was managing the stall by herself at that time but she was smiling and attentive. Verdict: the discounted brownie cake is a great buy but stay away from Ayam Masak Merah puff. It’s a rip off for $3.70 per piece 😡
