Dined here with my parents and husband as I've heard several people raving about it masha'Allah. We ordered the Sauté Combo to share (chopped beef and chicken steaks in picante gravy) with steak chips. The food was nice masha'Allah. The combo was sufficient for four people but not enough chips to go around so had to order extra rice and pitta bread. Had treacle toffee pudding with custard for afters - a personal fave. I noticed other diners with children who were treated well. So it seems like a family-friendly place. The menu mentions family rooms for hire.

Probably one of the best places that I visited in England. Their buffalo wings were really crispy and were not too tangy like most places. Chicken burger was also really good and served with caramelzed onions. Had their grilled chicken, really nice. Would really recommend this place.

Sahara grill do no frills GOOD FOOD! They are on the expensive side for what they provide, but all food is very tasty. We've never had an issue with service, everyone seems very polite and helpful.

I found the place to be clean and tidy and the food was ok. We had steaks which had a nice sauce and were not big but average size (considering the price). The meat was of good quality though. Tried the burgers but was not impressed, nothing special. Overall I found it to be expensive as I expect to have an overall good expeience for this type of price bracket. Although the food was ok the service wasn't fantastic (but not bad either) and the place lacked any character. To sum up I didn't have a bad time but also didn't have a wonderful time. On the curent service and decor levels I would suggest lowering of the prices but if they would up the service and ambience it's would be nice

I really like this place. Their spicy rice, chips and chicken combo remind me of nando's and matches it in taste also. Always packed out mid afternoon and evening so do make a booking. 4 rooms downstairs and very limited seating upstairs so be sure to call ahead. Nice owners aswell. Humble. Isn't that lovely considering how popular the restaurant is. :)

Overpriced; very overpriced. Small portions. Very small premises with limited seating. They charge a premium (I think an additional 10%) for sitting in the private family rooms downstairs. The stairs down to the family section are pretty scary and potentially dangerous. Drinks are outrageously overpriced. Admittedly some of the food is very very good. The bably lamb chops are superb, but at £8 for a portion of 5, they really have to be good to justify such a rip off price. The burgers are nasty. Really nasty. I suspect these are the type you can find in the freezer section at some indian grocery shops e.g. Tahira or Mr Spicy etc These beef burgers are a proper proper con job. Steer clear of beef burgers. The steaks are not bad, if a touch over cooked for my taste. Asian places have clearly never heard of medium-rare of below, I swear every asian restaurant does their steaks well cooked at the minimum which is a bit disappointing really. Chicken is not bad - chicken burgers are OK and the chicken 'tenders' are pretty good, but again suffer form the extorionate prices like everything else. Overall, I would reccommend visiting this place once, just to experience it. Thereafter, laugh at their ridiculously extorionate prices and go elsewhere. Some of their food is really good, can't deny this at all, but it's all let down by incredibly high prices which can not be justified for such cramped premises in Leyton. I mean Leyton is hardly a posh place where the owners can justify the prices; no, it is in fact a slum which is filled mostly with cheap fried chicken shops. If the brothers lower their prices by say 50%, I would reccommend this place. As it is, I say go their once and never return.

Other than the size of the place the food there is great. The chicken is average but the steak is to die for. It comes with Picante sauce and is delicious. The steaks arent too thick so they are marinated and cook well. Great portion that fills you up perfectly.. not to much - not too little.

When entering the restaurant I thought it was a bit small, however very clean. We were taken to a separate room downstairs as it was just us girls which I really liked. The service was really good as the brother working there showed respect. The food came very fast. The best grilled chicken I had in London. The portion of the food was really good quality. The price was really excellent worth the food .

My first impressions were that this place is tiny and i feel like a sardine! but that was soon forgotten by the friendly and helpful staff. We waited around 15mins for our order, the steak was well done and tasty, infact best ive had in london so far! portions are generous and perfectly tailoured to the meat eaters like me.....infact some of my friends from SW16 travel all the way for a steak from here.....says it all. To conclude id give this place 5/5 but lack of seating lets this place down plus its pricy too, the three of us shared one portion of wings then steak & drink each = £47 ......gulp

Went to Sahara Grill this evening, left feeling very disappointed. Buffalo wings were good, lamb chops were over cooked and more fat than meat, rump steak was dreadful, it had been sliced up and drowned in gravy. It would have been nice to have the gravy served in a separate jug. It was more like a Sunday roast then a Rump Steak. The service was non-existent and not even a smile was on offer, not sure if this was due to the fact that my wife does not wear hijab. I would question their level of hygiene and safety. The brothers left the restaurant completely unattended when they went to pray. They left the kitchen door open, as was the grill area at the front of the restaurant. There were no fire extinguishers or safety signs visible. Considering there were children present at the time, I feel this is completely unacceptable. I did not see any of them wash their hands when they returned from the mosque. The toilet entrance is situated right next to the kitchen entrance. Government regulations require restaurants to have two door access to toilets, Sahara only had one. Approached the brother who claimed to be "one of the four owners" to advise him on these issues, but it did not go down to well, instead I left insulted and embarrassed. According to him we need to "prove" that they are doing something wrong! We will be informing the local authorities of the above matters immediately. All in all this is an over-priced and over-hyped kebab shop which we will be steering clear of in the future.

Salafi steak house! Food is good but as expected seating downstairs in the cubicles is awfull, plus they charge you for eating there! If you want nice cubicles go to Azzizye in Stoke Newington.

I went here a few months ago with a new convert sister and our families. We were seated downstairs, which mashallah was exactly what we wanted. The food that was served was tasty according to the group, but being a vegetarian I was disappointed at the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. The only complaint I have is that the sister with me wasn't wearing a hijab and she was made to feel awkward by the brothers who came to take our order. In fact in the end we rushed our meal and left. I don't think this was a good way to represent muslims and for dawah reasons was almost ashamed for the way they behaved. Probably wouldn't feel comfortable going there again.

Excellent Service, Friendly and family Islamic atmosphere, Great food, especially the rump-steaks and Classic burgers with steak chips. They also serve Evoca Cola, a great tasting Muslim Cola drink made with natural Mineral water and Black Seed extract!

I really like this joint; and the brothers running it are extremely friendly; the portions I'd say are reasonable; not huge but perfectly fine for a person of average appetite; some stuff on the menu does seem unreasonably expensive but they have a lot of budget options also which are just as tasty. My only gripes are there are only three rooms downstairs and to be honest they could be improved; they close with only a curtain going across and since two of the rooms are joined together if someone opens the curtain to the other room, you risk the curtain to your room being nudged and opened as well; especially if there are curious children in the next cubicle, thus I did not feel comfortable taking off my overgarment or niqab which is the reason why we booked a room in the first place. Also the stairs going down there are quite creaky which is dodgy if you have young kids and also because of the curtain close to the cubicles; it is very risky that toddlers can quickly run out, up the stairs and out of the front door. Also there is no system to bell upstairs and order more items or ask for service in general; again with young kids this can be a problem. I think if they redesigned their layout downstairs they'd be on to a winner.

The owners shut the place down whenever adhan is called next door at Masjid Tawheed - which was interesting. They don't kick you out, they just don't cook or server for 15-20 min while they go pray. We felt guilty and went to pray too - the masjid is spotless btw, even for women. This place proudly declared that they use non-stunned halal meat only. The food was disappointing because the portions were small and therefore, overpriced. We had to fork out more money and order seconds to satiate ourselves. Not happy. I wouldn't say the taste was exceptionally good either but I'd go back

decent food, a little on the expensive side and the meals taste home cooked. I wouldn't consider this North african either. Very clean and room downstairs for parties and families in cubicles, service is a little slow but extremely friendly.
