I prefer Primo on 240th street. I drive from Manhattan to pick up fresh chicken for the week. Last week I was here and I couldn't find five healthy chickens (my weekly purchase). Actually i couldn't find one I was happy with. They are all packed in cages and the place stinks! I did buy one duck that was not slaughter weight yet, but it looked healthy enough. I think the slaughter is halal, but I am not sure. The butcher plucked the bird live at one point--it went crazy with pain. I dont care (so long as the meat is tasty!) since I am not a muslim, but if you are, then watch out.

This place is filthy. I went there to buy chicken and couldnt stand the smell. The meat was just okay.
