This is proper desi food - spicy and tasty! Only downside is that it can get VERY VERY busy, especially in the evenings -- it's not been unknown for us to have to wait for nearly an hour before getting our food -- and that's after having already pre-ordered it on the phone :-( Please note: this is part of a chain, so when it says in the description about "contemporary restaurant with leather seats and old style wood tables" that may be true about some of the other locations (e.g. High Wycombe), the Reading location is somewhat more basic in terms of the decor.

The place is pretty good. It's a little costly but the food is excellent. Place is neat and clean with great service. Worth checking out.

When I was working in Newbury, I was a regular here, food is good, good service. try the chicken donner.

GoogleAbout 2013 i gave this 5 stars because the food is always delicious and staff very friendly and accommodating. . particularly like their sizzling hot on plate mixed grill and fresh naan...However, around 2014 it was taken over by new management and after changing several hands I'm sory to say its gone downhill

GoogleGone down hill big time, gave me bad upset belly :( Think they have changed hands, and not washed them in between. Food was of poor quality and laking in taste. Shame as this WAS the best but not any more.

GoogleWhat happened to this place? 7-8 years ago it was one of the best Indian places in town, but my visit today was extremely disappointing. The place was filthy, plate was dirty, cutlery was dirty, and even though I was eating in I had to collect my food from the counter - it used to be waiter service. I even had to get my own cutlery and serviette. To top it off the food was terrible and I left most of what I'd ordered. I couldn't be more disappointed.
