I would like you to review the Halal status of the slaughter house. I was there this afternoon, and the gentleman I spoke to who confirmed he was the owner, also said he is not a muslim, however, the person who does the slaughtering of the the livestock is a muslim (not confirmed).

After all these great reviews on zabihah.com, I decided to buy some halal meat here. Nothing special--ordinary cuts. But very friendly service.

This place is owned by my friend's family. It is so convenient. You just choose the bird and the thing is prepared for you in minutes using halal methods. All you hear is a lot of noise from the chosen bird for a minute or two, and then it is ready for being cooked :)

I love their baby chickens. Had one for dinner tonight. They are plump and delicious :) I was impressed with the way they slaughter the birds--very unemotional and fast (fun to watch!)

I heard that they have really plump birds because the owner keeps the lights turned on all night--the chickens are fed 24/7 and can barely stand on their legs :) I love plump, healthy birds with lots of breast meat!

Highly recommended for chicken! If you are friends with the owners, they will take you to a back room where the better-quality birds are caged. These are fluffy white, plump birds with excellent meat--juicy, tender and flavorful. Soon as you pick your bird, a young girl pulls it out, slaughters it and sends it to the cleaning room. Quite a fun shopping experience :)
