Real bad experience. The food was below average. Order whole chicken tikka and got it cold. When I told them, it took forever to get it heated. There is definitely an issue with cleanliness. The soap bottle at the sink was filled with water. No one cares. Avoid this place.
The food tasted good for a few minutes, and then we noticed that almost all of our food was under-cooked - almost raw. All three of us became very sick for a few days, so I really can't say I would ever come back here.
I really had a bad experience at this place. They charge double the price for regular naans compared to other places in the area. I saw one of them pick up a spoon from the floor and put it back up with the rest on the counter. Overall it seemed kinda dirty and unhygienic.
I'm actually tired of eating Sagar's food but I have to say they have the best Bangladeshi food out there.
I find this place dirty and food not very good. However prices are reasonable. Parking a huge issue.
Absolutely love the Bihari Kabab from here.
the kebabs are good, the chicken tikka wasn't cooked well. i didn't like the service at all. wouldn't go back
good food, usually fast service. Just remember to ask them to heat some of the dishes up.
Very good food, good variety of authentic bangladeshi food, and not that costly. I liked there Haleem most.
food was amazing.i didn't even know this place existed until yesterday.good food, good prices, huge menu and the service is really great.
I went with my family yesterday. The restaurant was extremely clean. The food was excellent in taste and the service was friendly. specially their karai goat and chicken korma was fantastic. Price range is reasonable. Very clean bathroom. Good atmosphere. someone looking for good taste must go and enjoy the kachchi byriani.
There is a very family environment and the attitude of the staffs is excellent. The price is reasonable and the quality of the food is nice. Specially the hazir byriani is almost delicious
Great place to eat Halal food. The place is busy with people standing in lines for food during the day. I recommend thier Tandoori Chicken, it is awesome. I went there for Dinner a few times as well and they have Dinner specials every weekday. If you want good food at good price "SAGAR SWEETS" is the best place to go.
The uncle always assures me this food is halal and I ask constantly. The food here is awesome. There's a nice variety of chicken tikka and the other stuff like biryani and moglae are excellent. Good portions also. Very spicy. It takes a while because the food is made fresh however you want it. Call ahead for take out.
what can you say. the food is just what you crave and the price is fair. hits the spot for the taste of bangladeshi, pakistani and indian food. they have some great testy foods like karai goat, tandori checken, cheken biriany n many more. go here for good food that will not break your budget. i live hillsite avenue and my wife sometimes calls in an order for me to go pick up. it reminds her of home, and she is from bangladeshi. high quality, good prices.
Excellent quality in both foods and environment.Rhost and kabab!....wow..any kind of bangali foods are available there.
The food here isn't bad. The chicken roast was awesome and the kheer was the best I ever had. The biryani was so so but the bihari kebab wasn't so good. Also the people were rude and the restaurant had no atmosphere. Next time I'm getting take out.
The food is great. The people are friendly and its a family welcoming place. On the weekends the food is cooked desi/chinese style and is absolutely tasty. Have gone many times, will go again.
Great desi food, I am not bengali, but everyone I have ever taken to Sagar has loved their food...must try their bihari kabab and chicken roast. They also have really great naan.
The best benagli food in NYC. Recommend everyone to go there and try the kababs specially the bihari kabba.. yummyyy
The food is the best. The best Bangladeshi food. You have to try the Kabab and Biryani.
The food is has ranged from great to good. I have catered from there. The Bangladeshi Muslim owners have validated the authenicity of allfood being halal. Their chicken roast is very good.
I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at Sagar Chinese in Hillside Ave. Yesterday, I visited the establishment and spent approximately $50, which is a significant amount for me as I am not currently employed and used my savings. I ordered the chicken vegetable Thai soup, but what I received was a mostly watery broth. Upon returning home and inspecting the contents, I felt frustrated and called the restaurant to inquire about the consistency of the soup. The staff member confirmed that they did offer Thai soup and stated that the recipe had not changed. When I pointed out the soup's watery consistency, the staff member's response was that they don't put water in the soup, which seemed arrogant and rude. I expressed my disappointment, feeling that at the very least, an apology for the inconvenience would have been warranted. The staff member's attitude was unhelpful, suggesting that I bring the soup back, without acknowledging any fault. One more thing there was no heat at that place and it was freezing. Given my 20-year patronage of this establishment, I am particularly disappointed in the service I received. Just a little video I am posting to show about the consistency of the soup.
