My husband and I met some friends here for the buffet on our way back to PA, and we had to pray. Not only did they provide a place for us, but insisted on us using their rugs to get more thawab. SubhanAllah. In these days where restaurants may happen to serve halal meat for more business, but have bars and belly dancing, it's so refreshing to have a restaurant this nice that protects what's important and doesn't comprise to get more money. Surely they deserve our support. May Allah give them great success in this life and the next. Oh, and the food's good too! Loved the buffet.
Writing this while sitting here at the restaurant. First time here....Awesome food with excellent customer service. \r\nWould definitely return....
Open lunch buffet for $12.99 and plenty of good tasting items to whet your apetitite. Plus fruit and arabic dessert were part of the buffet, which was awesome. The sitting area decor isn't like a regular restaurant, which makes this place very unique and "arabian". Highly recommended. Excellent staff too!
Fantastic buffet with wonderful service. Loved their salads and "halal shots" (small potent lemonade drinks).
Clean and nice sitting area, friendly. They have a 12.99 plate that is a mix of everything, there's a variety of dishes that are ready to choose from but they serve you (not an open buffet). Unfortunately the food is bland. They need more spices. The grilled chicken was the only think I liked, If it was an open buffet you can at least go back to get whats good.
We were introduced to this place on our second day and it was amazing. Even though it was far from our hotel but we kept going there because the food is very tasty. My son loved the kobedeh and the same goes for the Shawarma. Might be a bit pricy but worth it.
AWLFUL PLACE ... BIG RIPOFF. GAVE A MENU WITH LOWER PRICES BUT CHARGED HIGHER PRICE. COMPLAIN TO WAITRESS AND SHE SAID THEIR MENUS HAVE NOT BEEN UPDATED YET. BROUGHT APPETIZER ALMOST AFTER WE FINISHED EATING. FOOD DID NOT TASTE AUTHENTIC MIDDLE EASTERN. STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY. DISGUSTING PLACE. IF THEY DO SHADY TACTICS LIKE THIS WITH MENU PRICES, I DOUBT VERY MUCH IT IS HALAL THEN.
I feel I have an obligation to report this. I realize that a lot of people may assume I'm making this up or that I am a business owner who doesn't want competition from Mirage, and you can be the judge of that yourself. There's no reason to trust a perfect stranger. However, I know for a fact that Mirage does not serve Halal food. I know this because a relative of mine worked at Mirage for a period of time and he got an insider look at what kind of meat they serve. The restaurant may sometimes serve Halal meat if they can get a bargain when purchasing the meat, but this happens rarely. I don't want to have a guilty conscience so I decided to write about it here.
Despite being an overall confusing combination of food and decorations, we were mostly pleased (probably because we were starving though!). Kabab was tasty and authentic. Service was quite slow, but they were nice.
The service is slow and staff is rather rude (I've been there 3x). They have a large variety or baklava variants--which I assume is what they're known for; the gyro and chicken sandwiches that I got were not very good (a little dry; they tasted like they had been reheated).
Good dessert menu, but that's about it. I would pass on the Persian food. There are tons of other Persian, afghani and middle eastern places in the area that serve better tasting food with a smile. I do not recommend this place.
May be a good place if you are looking for a large variety of sweets. However, if you know Persian food very well--may not be happy here. Pricey on top of it.
This place was a complete disappointment. It looked very nice inside so we were excited. We ordered approximately 10-15 shawarmas to go. They said it would take about 15 minutes. 1 hr later, we got our food which had little to no taste and it was expensive. We were most angry about the time wasted since we had more important things to do and they lied to us. Very disappointed. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because their bakhlava was good.
I've been here a few times and the food service were decent. They give you a lot of food for what you pay, and the sweets were pretty good.
Food and service were average.
first of all food sucks, the coupons are garbage, and the service is weak, i mean weak. The prices of the food does not even match up to level of food.
They have a lot of sweets and out of all the sweets in Alexandria I have tried they do have the best selection even though most do all taste the same. They have an excellent Persian tea! I have not tried the food yet. It is not really an islamic place like many have mentioned but its not a bad place what so ever you can def take your family.
Owned by Iranians. One of the few places I have ever been in that has "halal" in the window, but not a single thing otherwise to denote that they are Muslim. Owners seem like secular/non practicing Muslims. Kunnafah is very good however. I would go there for anything other than the sweets.
they sure do have a lot of bakhlava. seems like the place to go if you're looking for that kind of dessert. i've never tried their food. the restaurant seems clean and the service is good.
Excellent kabobs in a nice, clean, bright restaurant. I haven't been very impressed with the desserts I've tried, but I love their Kubideh Kabobs and my husband loves the chicken kabobs.
