I was excited to see that they serve Indian/Pakistani Halal food. First impression in the restaurant was that its not very clean, but lets see if the food can compensate that. We ordered Lamb Balti with Tandoori Roti. Roti was almost burnt that we had to return. Lamb balti was the worst looking dish. Big pieces of pre boiled meat mixed with pre made tasteless masala. There was nothing in the food worth even one star. Totally disappointed. And the price was very high, we ended up paying about 60 USD for the total piece of crap food. Total waste of money.

The food here is good. Ive only eaten at the restaurant once but have had their food at wedding receptions whenever they have catered them. I have called the restaurant numerous times to see if all the meat is Halal and the manager says it is. Allah knows best. May our good intentions of eating Halal be rewarded, Ameen.

Have been there several times and ordered in even more - great food in general. Just to add to the Halal / non-Halal discussion: called them a few mins ago and asked to speak to the manager. Told him I'd heard different things about the 'halalness' of their food. He assured me that everything on the menu was halal. He said I should also ask to see the bills for their meat myself when I came to the restaurant.

Please be aware that this restaurant doesn't serve HALAL food. I wanted to arrange a party for my colleagues at work but wanted to make sure the food is Halal. I went there and the atmosphere wasn't so promising about the food being Halal. I returned to office and called the restaurant and spoke Manager who at first said the meats used are Halal. Asked if you can let me know the name and address of the supplier from whom you get Halal meats. The guy was hesitant and wouldn't give it to me and when I asked if the owner was Muslim? the reply was "No" and then phone was hung up. So careful about this place!

The owners and most of the waiters are non-muslims. Only verbal assurance is given for the food. The head chef told me that they keep Halal food seperately from other meat but i (personally only)really doubt that. Alcohol is also served at this place. Over all the food is expensive. Dinner for three will cost around $35/person.

The food at Bukhara is always delicious, especially chicken makhni and palak ke kofte. We have taken many friends here and they always want to go back. There is not a designated prayer space, but I asked a manager and they opened the banquet room upstairs for me and offered me a tablecloth to pray on!

I am not a Muslim, but I have been to this restaurant. And the food is very good. The vegetarian choices are nice too. Can be crowded at dinner time.

Assalam-o-alaikum to all. I have lived in new york area for around 10 yrs now and never had such an bad dining experince in years. I recently went to this restaurant for a dinner with few friends and family, around 10 people in total. The food quality was very bad, Especially the chicken items tasted like its a road kill. Also the serving staff of not courtese and help full,it fills that they just wanted us to finish our dinner and live, the price what they have are truly an open highway robbery. We end up paying almost $500.00 for the food which really sucked. Over all pls eat on any new york city street carts but pls dont waste ur money at this restaurant.

I went to this restaurant after reading reviews here, but the food was nothing to rave about. Their quails are OK. Checkout other restaurants in the area for a similar cuisine at a much lower price!

We walked about a 1 mile in Manhattan to get to this restaurant and were disappointed to see that they were serving alcohol. But we went ahead to to have dinner after having verbal assurance that their meat was halaal. This restaurant is very expensive but the good was very good especially the "Hareali chicken" and Lamb chops. But I won't be visiting this restaurant again since they serve alcohol.

I had dinner at Bukhara Grill with my boyfriend. We tried the karare quails, bhuna goat, the murgh korma and tawa crab. The goat was especially interesting. The chicken was a little under-cooked, but it was all breast meat--so it was quite tender. I couldnt stop with the baby quails, so we ordered a second round--crispy on the outside, and succulent on the inside :)
