Tahoora did not have jalebi so I came across to King Sweets. The ladhoo, barfi and jalebi didn't look as appetizing but I nevertheless bought a selection. Service was courteous but the sweets are nothing compared to Tahoora
Seems like a new management has taken over and they messed up the place. I used to go here every time I was in Devon area, but now I am not. Bad service has change my mind of the store. I am not sure if King sweets is under new management, but when I went on a Saturday evening and OLD guy with white beard was rude and did not want to listen. It was the first time I saw him their. Disappointing.
best kashmiri chai! and great halwa puri, bun kabobs, chicken sandwiches, and of course mathai (namely their ras malai)
Excellent breakfast. Don't forget to try their (puri/Channa). Customer service is bit slow but it is definitely worth waiting for.
Went there for a cup of tea . It was fresh and I would go back when I am there .
There are a lot of sweets/mithai stores on Devon but what really makes this place great has nothing to do with the sweets. Their chicken sandwich is the perfect light meal and tastes great even days later. After 1 or 2 of these delicious sandwiches, try a cup of the kashmiri tea - King Sweets is the only place I know of on Devon that makes this famous drink which is pink, sweet, and full of interesting surprises like cardamom, cinnamon and almonds.
The "mithai" at this place lacks authenticity. I have had their rasmalai and rabri and both were just "okay"...Samosa and Puff patties were good! Halwa Puri was pretty huge and tasted fine! Hav not tried their dinner/lunch stuff yet!
Excellent Kashmiri Chai!
Clean environment, mithaes taste just like Pakistani. Each mithae has it's authentic taste, service is good too.
Their samosas were the best outta all that i tried on devon. Chai was also great. Parathaas were ok, but as compared to the ones i had from other nearby restaurants, they were pretty good. V got to taste freshly made jalebi and they were superb......yummy....wish i can go back to Chicago soon!
They have the best cold sandwiches in Chicago.
This place has amazing halwa puri, excellent kulfi faluda, and really good mithai. I'm a Tahoora patron so if i can like another mithai store then it must be really good.
salam!they have excellent papri chat. their halwa puri is superb. parathas are also an item you would like to try.
My husband and I went there for desi breakfast(puri channa). It was great! I took my family for the same breakfast and they were glad to eat there. Nice staff and less crowded than other famous places in the morning!
This place has the best chai in all of devon. The sweets are good too! This place is clean comapred to many other restaurants on devon....just watch out for the smelly trays.
Best snacks around Devon area. I always go to Kings for snacks. Their staff is friendly and the management maintains a clean environment.
salam. I have just few words for kings sweets and its friendly staff. Excellent! Exceptional! I was there with my family a day before Eid. we used to buy sweets from tahoora but now their quality and service sucks! Can't wait to try sweets from king sweets again when we visit Chicago again!
