I have been going to this place for more than 5 years, every time I enter it is getting worse and worse. Food is delicious and one of the best no argue there, but as soon as you pay and they take your money they do not care about you, it is you in a jungle of hungry people hunting for tables and all the management can do is just give you some \"Sorry Sorry Sorry\" Ended up eating in the parking lot few times, I would not recommend this for family visits or friends
I really like this place. Usually the amount of rice is so much that it does not make it as my top choice but there are times when I want to indulge my tribal side and off I go here. The restaurant is nice but always crowded, which means they are doing something right. The naans, as mentioned in another review, are NOT Indian...they\'re just weird. The staff isn\'t even Indian, they are Pakistani and Afghani. I love the chicken kababs. Maybe next time I\'ll try the beef or the lamb kababs.
I've been here many times. The food is usually good. My favorite is the half chicken dinner; however, I have to give Bamiyan a low rating for their refusal to enter the 21st century and accept credit cards; also their customer service is poor.
We've been to this place many times because their food is nice in general. However, we had a bad experience last week when we went their on night and the naans they gave us were hard and not fresh. They actually microwaved the left over naans for us. Very cheap move Bamiyan, you just lost a customer in me.
Its good food but not authentic Afghan cuisine, there is a distinct Afghan flavour that is missing from the BBQ's. The lamb does not have the fat BBQ'd with it which totally gives a different flavour. If you are an Afghan you probably will agree. The Nan's are not Afghani Nan, they are Indian Nans. Not a true Afghan cuisine.
A Toronto local suggested this place for dinner last night & we enjoyed the food thoroughly. The restaurant was busy but service was quick & friendly. My only gripe is that they do not accept credit cards. I was fortunate enough that somebody exchanged USD for Canadian $ so I could pay.
This place needs a revolving door. It is very popular. The kabobs are nice and tender, especially the chicken. I love that they use brown basmati rice instead of white...much healthier. My only complaint was the dull naan bread.
Came to visit Toronto from US and lived close to this restaurant. I was told they have good food. Went their and the food is good. One of the top place I ate in Toronto. Only thing is they are packed with people even on Thursday evening.
Okay, I have to say that I think this is my fave Halaal establishment. Great for muslims and non-muslims alike. The food is consistently good...I've never had a bad meal here. This visit I brought a friend who had never tried it, and she said she enjoyed it, masha'allah. My faves are the kebab and the barg. Make sure to get the plate with the rice. The afghan naan is sooo good, and make sure to use the spicy dipping sauce (wish they'd give more)! Definitely would come back, insha'allah!
Good food. Very clean. Fast service.
Seating is sometimes tight at this location. Large portions and good food. Afghan bread is always nice. The meal can get a bit dry with all that rice so it would be GREAT if they added some sauce to the side. I'm not blaming Bamiyan... I'm blaming the Afghans! j/k =)
good food. good service. recommended.
good food good prices and I even had some to take home with me.
I went to this place for the first time tonight. I went with 6 other people. It's more like a fast food place than a restaurant in terms of atmosphere, since there are no waiters / waitresses and you have to pick your own food up (just like at a school cafeteria, for example). However, food was as good as any Afghan restaurant I've been to. I enjoyed it very much. I don't have any complaints other than the fact that there was only one baby seat available in the whole place, from what I could tell, and some of us little yogurt cups with our dishes while others didn't (all of us should've got them). I actually think this place is not expensive as for 7 of us the total came to $65 including tax. Quite reasonable for a restaurant nowadays!
Food is good. prices are high . Service is slow .
Always a wait for a table, food is blah. Chicken, lettuce and tomato puree. It's okay.
The food always tastes great and is very fresh. I don't like the service nor the small dining area though. If those things were to improve, this place could be among the best restaurants in Toronto.
Their food is tasty but is pricey compared to other places that offer the same food. The location is small and gets packed very easily, its usually best to order ahead and pick up.
I love this place. Food is consistently tasty. Only prob is that for the prices they charge, one should expect to be served and the place is always superbusy.
Great food, there servings a big enough for two. Ambiance is that of a take away. Decently priced
Food was good, over price though.
The food is pretty good but it is quite overpriced!
BEST food. . . Try their Chicken Dinner, it awesome! Boneless chicken with rice / nan
Great restaurant and always busy. Casual dining and self-service. Seats about 40 people. Food is great and rice is different to most other kebab places. Very tasty. Very reasonably priced considering it is a sit down place. Kebabs are fresh and portions are ample - not excessive but just right. Chapli kebab was great. Worth a visit.
Although its too pricey , but the kababs tastes great . Not too clean , a more fast food restaurant like joint but good food and overpriced .good to visit once a year
great food..the place is always busy..i like all thier kabab dishes...
I went there yesterday, the food was good but very small portions and the price is a little higher for kebob places. The restaurant is like a fast food joint, pick up the food at the front and bus your own table at the end. I went on a Saturday so it was very busy.
The best ! I go often and have never been disappointed with whatever I order. It's a self help, order, pick-up, find a table and sit down. Very busy place.
The food's good, always fresh off the grill. you have a to wait a bit, because they are always busy, but it's worth it. The same types of meals, of the same quality would definitly be a few dollars more in a nicer sit-down restaurant. This isn't a fancy place, nor does it try to be. They serve honest, yummy, well priced fast-food.
There so many good halal restaurant's in Toronto ( the one good thing about Canada) this restaurant has to be in the same category, good food, price, quality. Nice place to take the family if you don't wanna spend an arm and a leg for dinner!
Functions like a fast-food joint. The food is on the 'dry' side, which is different from the typical masala and oil laden Indo-Pak cuisine. The kebabs are well prepared and tasty, however, the quantities are not too generous, considering that prices are on the high side. Be prepared to feel a little hungry, even after finishing off one of their combo dinners. Still, this joint can be a welcome break if you get tired of the typical curry-biryani type of food.
Assalam_u_Alaikum: Mahsallah very tasty and delicious food I have ever eaten in the Toronto area. Very good service, nice people and reasonable prices for their entire specialty. I told them we came from far away please serve us with your good food. I tried Chapplie Kabob and rice. My family members tried Chopan Kabob and Nan with sauce. Allahumdulillah very tasty food. Wassalam! Fayyaz!
I didn't have the kebabs so I cannot rate them. It's not a place to take vegetarian friends. If one doesn't eat meat there is only very plain rice and a simple iceberg lettuce salad. It is also not a place to go for a dressy night out with your spouse. The decor resembles a clean Burger King or pizza joint - same kind of seating and counter where you pay and pick up your food. It is probably a really great place to take kids though. When I visited there was a steady stream of families and not just parents with little kids - but parents, little kids, aunties, uncles, grandpa and grandma. Mini van heaven. Floor and seating can't really be destroyed by messy little ones.
Great food, clean restaurant, reasonable prices - my fav is Chopan kebab.
Guys Bamiyan is back in the form, recieved excellent attention by staff. Chicken kebob is just excellent with nan, generously served. I enjoyed a warm family welcome. Valentine cheers to bamiyan for outstanding performance.
The service and food was good previously but I recently noted the staff is no able to take orders properly. Nans were stale and the stuff was cold and not properly served.I can see so many good comment but with this kind of cheap service bamiyan will definitely loose its rating.
excellent food, nice clean place, courteous staff..... definitley recommended!
Nice and clean. The food is excellent, especially lamb chops. However, a bit expensive.
My new favorite Halal Kabob house. This place was recently featured on CBC radio and it lives up to the good reviews. It is well worth a trip to try their delicious Chicken Tikka, Kababs, and the fantastic Boulany! The staff is very friendly and courteous. Highly recommended!
Sparkling clean place to eat. They serve afghan food in a fast food style. Not a bad eat once in a while because I found it a bit pricy. Quality of food is impressive.
I would recommend this place good food with good price
Highly recommended - this place is clean, hygienic, and has great food. Staff is very friendly too. Pricewise, two can eat for $25 approx.
I have tried the food couple of times service/food/price/quality every thing is good. I would recommand the restaurant.
