A great halal Chinese restaurant, Went with my wife last night and we really enjoyed our meal, the menu has a real good choice, we had crispy beef for starters and there tastes really fresh spicy, just the way i like them, for mains we shared a chicken munchain with egg fried rice and chicken chow mein, all was piping hot and delicious, we didn't have room for dessert, but will try this next time, overall a great experience. If you like a fusion between Chinese and Asian cuisine definitely try lahore karahi halal Chinese.

We visited this restaurant the day after Eid, and understandably, it was very busy. I've been here before, and was holding a certain expectations. However, although we were seated immidiately, it was about an hour before we got our food. Unfortunately, the naans breads were rock-hard, and could not be eaten. To their credit, they gave us other more palable naans and were kind enough not to charge us for them. The food was ok, although in hindsight, a little disappointing.

The food here is sub standard and awful service too with waiters who have no clue either ! How do these guys ever get employed when they can't even understand basic English Your better off eating Chinese at home as it would be far cleaner and hygienic than this place. The birmingham city council should visit this establishment on a regular basis to inspect there kitchens as this place has some serious issues !

A GREAT NIGHT OUT Was taken by my brother in law last week for a meal at lahore karahi chinese. There was 8 of us and only 2 of us had been here before. The food was delicious. The muncahriun had a real nice kick to it and the rice was sodt and tasty. my daughter had the hong kong chow mein and she said it was the best chow mein she had tasted. we often go to pakistan and dubai and eat chinese and there really had the same feel about this place. we had a selection of starters consiting of both Asian and Chinese and the dessert wernt bad either. The service was excellent and the mananger made us feel very welcomed. overall i would highly recommend this place.

Awful food either Chinese or Indian, service poor. Not proper Chinese. Poor cheap ingredients eg prawns tasted like sea weed. Very expensive cost me £60.00 of my hard earned money. Could do better for half the price in alum rock. If you want Chinese this ain't the place! Get a cook book make it at home. Avoid at your peril!

Good food but slow service and pretty expensive. Update: October 2010. Went back again, and the place seems to have nose dived. The waiting staff were clueless - they seemed to like avoiding eye contact and you practically had to walk up and grab them by the collar in order to get their attention. The food was worse than the previous visit. Oh yeah, they also have a mandatory 10% service charge; The cheek of it! I'm not sure if it was added on when I last visited, or perhaps I hadn't been paying attention because that visit had been a more pleasant affair. However, I would urge anyone who visits this place to think hard before handing over money - that service charge cannot be legal surely?

WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! i have never been able to trash a place completely before, but the visit I had to this dump necessitates it now. WORST fod ever - it was takeaway SLOP at restaurant prices. Disgusting gravy with very little meat in it. We ordered chicken and lamb - both dishes looked identical - red slop. As we were there for a birthday I couldnt complain in front of our party and they were waiting for us so i stupidly paid up in silence. Im furious that ive been ripped off. The waiters were sleazebags - staring at us like they had never seen girls before and I am trying not to ask Allah to poke their eyes out as they ruined the evening for me before the crap food even arrived! I called the waiter twice and he walked past me as if I hadnt said anything. When i asked for a particular dessert they said they didnt have any, leaving us without any dessert to eat. The prices were massively different from what was advertised online- £6.95 online was actually £7.50 when we got there. The 10% service charge was not mentioned anywhere and service for what?! Im furious and I want everyone to know they will waste their money and time going o this dump. Worst place in birmingham. Boycotting it. And Im also telling AK (amir Khan) to remove his endorsement from their website as signing your name to a dump is bad for anyones rep

The positives are that it has a family atmosphere, and plenty of seating. However the food fails for this class of restaurant. All the dishes (expect the sizzler thankfully) came out cold, even after mentioning this on the next order. Taste wasn't so hot either. The Singapore noodles were good though.

This restaurant is poor, the worst ive neen too. I went in the evening for 2, We entered the restaurant and was there standing for 5 mins for somebody to seat us down, the staff were looking out us, we got the impression they were scared, but as the night went on you knew they had no experience. Anyway we were not proffesionally seated down we just pointed to our table. The starters were not warm, despite getting cooked fresh, i ordered a szechuan beef, and a reviewer mentioned something before me on here i ordered beef szechuan but tasted like lamb i asked the manager but he said it was beef. The meat was really dry and tough and that ruined the whole quality. But beware they service charge 10% service charge which is a joke. This should be upto the customer if they want to give it or not. The service in this place is bull! i never recommend anyone going here.

I used to be a big fan of this restaurant going a minimum of 15 times a year but in the past 9 months the service and food has fell off a cliff. For the price of the food you expect a lot and until recently that was the case. The past 2 times I have gone spread about 6 months apart I had major problems. I usually go for the sizziling beef szeshaun or manchurian but they are trying to give me lamb instead of beef and then acting like i am crazy for tasting the difference. Arguing with me that this is the beef when it is clear it is lamb. I used to tolerate their 10% surcharge but never again!

I went there after been told it's good. But the food was okay for Chinese. Had better. But what shocked me was the starters came warm I was really disspointed after waiting so long for them . Staff are not experienced at all. Really disspointed as I never seen so slow service and there was only 3 other tables. I was so fustrated i was going to leave after the starters. I just hope it was a one off. I'm not going there again beside the bad service food was not all that.

I went to lahore chinese with my family for the first time last week and i was amazed with the service and food, It felt like i was back in lahore eating chinese again, The munchian was excellent and the starters and rice was really nice. We had a mixs of chinese and pakistani food and the whole family was very happy with the service and food. Its advisable to book in advance as when we went we had to wait for 20 minutes, but well worth the wait, i will be telling all my freinds and family about this place.

One thing I dont understand which is the DUCK on the menu we had it as it says halal but when we asked alot of halal butchers they say it cannot be halal as u cannot zibbah one duck u have to do lots together and no where in birmingham can u get that.... so Im worried we have stopped ordering duck but can anyone clarify that? Best on menu: Ginger & spring onion beef, beef chilli dry and singapore fried rice.... yumyum Allah Hafiz

Not being a fan of chinese food, I reluctantly visited this halaal chinese restuarant with my wife, but i was amazed at the quality of the food! I was won over to chinese food! The meat sizzlers are delicious, the servings are good. Its a bit pricy, but i think well worth it. They also do indian dishes if people are after a bit of variety!

Fantastic food, fantastic surroundings and excellent service. Portions are quite generous for the price you pay. My particular favourite is Sizzling Chicken Manchunian. As a result I am regular visitor.
