OK I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IN THE WORLD THIS RESTAURANT GOT A 4.5 RATING. We just went to this place and would never ever go back. We ordered ghemeh badenjoon and sultani kabob. The ghemeh was old and smelly. The sultani kabob was not cooked at all. When we asked the owner to see if he could let the kabob cook a little more, he said he can't cook it because it will burn and took my husbands plate and never returned back with it! The salad was old and nasty as well. If they call themselves Muslims, they shouldn't lie about their food!
I just went to Yekta for lunch and it is open. The owner assured me that the meat was halal. Besides, I drive by this place often and have seen a van with the halal designation deliver meat to it. The kabob was excellent and so was the rice. I was not impressed by the salad. It was just some roughly cut iceberg lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The dressing was okay but I would not recommending it. Please review your bill. We were charged dinner prices for a lunch menu even though the menu was handed to us by the host and the lunch menu was pointed out when we ordered. LOL
I went there last week and found out that this place is no longer open to the general public, only for catering.
I went there yesterday and the lady said their kitchen was under construction and to come back in a few days......I found it strange that their doors would be unlocked if they were not conducting business.
I had the lambchops with rice, rice was good but the lambchops weren't good tasted raw. If you would like to try persian food try the sabzi or koobideh.
I just spoke to the owner, she insured me that everything is halal (zabihah). I will go there later and meet with them in person.
This place is great for a westside restaurant, taste and price. Been there a couple times and the meat was tasty and cooked well.
This is a small Persian restaurant on the westside. There was no display of the Halal certificate in the restaurant, however the owner, who said he was a Muslim, showed us invoices from the meat vendor and it did say halal beef and chicken on the invoice. The food was like any other Persian food, a bit on the expensive side. Lunch special will end up costing you $10 with tip and soda included. For dinner add five dollars to the bill. Seating arrangement was okay, the eating are was clean.
Expensive. Rude owners. Virtually NO service. While we had no water and no drinks, the owners made themselves comfortable at the table next to us, serving themselves water, soda and all kinds of nice stuff. But we were completely ignored. When we asked for water, they only gave us ONE cup of water (we were three people). with that one cup, they had an attitude as if they were doing us a favor. Very pathetic.
This is the only Halal Persian food restaurant in the Westside that I know of. The owners are Muslims and they'll show you the certificate hanging on the wall if you are the paranoid suspicious type. Food is great - if you are South Asian (Desi) stick to the Kebabs. The food quantity is huge. You also have to try the Mast-o-Khiar (Raita) and the Shirazi salad (small for one or two peopel and large order for groups). Prices are low, the place is not so posh like Javan Restaurant - but if your kids make a mess - The owners/managers are friendly and do not make you feel embarrased. The only thing is they should also add fish to their menu and home made doogh. The ready made bottled one is horrible.
Very nice restaurant and good food.
Great atmosphere, excellent service. A very comfortable place for family and friends to gather. Will eat there again someday when we visit LA...
VERY GOOD FOOD and the owner is VERY NICE. Good sevice as well. Its a nice family resturaunt.
Tasty Persian kababs. The menu is only partially Halal so do ask before ordering!
