I also agree with the alchohol and halal food argument but when you are in a city like Tokyo where muslims are rare and so is halal food, you gotta cut some slack to a guy trying to server halal food. He has to sustain his business by appealing to locals who drink alot. Otherwise, he wouldnt be able to stay open and a muslim will not be able to get halal food. So, it can be argued in this light also. :) As far as the food, its not the best but being again in Tokyo, its good...Malai kababs are not as great...try the chicken tikka and shami kabab and chicken karahi...

I am not a devoted muslim but to me if the restaurant served alcohol the restaurant should no longer regard as halal as they are encouraging alcohol drinking. So if the restaurant wanted to be acknowledge as halal restaurant then they should refrain serving alcohol in their premises.

I tried this a couple of times when I was in Tokyo. The owner Raja Saab is very friendly person. The food was good too. It was a blessing to find a Pakistani halal restaurant in Tokyo.

They claim halal meat. Showed us packets of meat with halal label imported from Australia. Owner is Nadeem Raja, from Pakistan, Cook is Muhammed Rafiq who seems to be a devout muslim. They do serve Alcohol. They do have other vegetarian dishes, so if you get a craving for Indian or Pakistani food while you are out there, this is one place you can try.
