Place needs a refit as it is looking tired. Mixed grill is great but the main dishes are a let down
It's not a bad place per se, but the prices are a tad high given that it looks a bit run down from outside. I was expecting cheap prices to go with the cheap decor and cheap illegal immigrants working here. Unfortunately the management presumably had ideas above their station and the prices rival those of better quality restaurants further up the Stratford Road in Sparkhill. There really is no need for anyone to choose this place above any other unless they just so happen to be hungry on the way back to their car after shopping in the generic refugee shops that seem to dominate this part of Stratford Road. Oh, nearly forgot; I'm told the decor inside is supposed to give an Afghan ambience or something. Personally I think they just bought whatever was going cheap from the charity shops next door and hoped the average punter was too thick to notice. On a positive note, their lamb curries (under whatever naming convention used on the menu) are quite good. 2 out of 5.
Very over priced for what you get here ! The portions are so small even my 9 year old daughter was still hungry after the main course ? These guys need to realize that there are much better food places around the area with value for money. This is the second time I have been here and there won't be a third.
Food is very good. Quality, fresh ingredients. Service good also. This place is mostly catered for apne. Only down side why I have given a 3 rating, is price. Just too expensive for the portions served. The faloodas for desert were ridiculously overpriced. However, the curry portions being small, seem to be of the right amount for an average stomach. Some other restaurants give great big portions of inferior food, which tend to be left over.
Mmm I simply love the food here it is expensive but worth the money I don't mind splashing out on de food here ! I mostly come here on valentines nd other occasion down side is service is slow at times that's probably due to the rush hour otherwise PERFECT !
Probably the best chicken jalfrezi in all of B'ham. I always take out of towners here and everyone has always enjoyed the food. Service could be better and the credit/debit card machine has not been working for about a year now.
Portions were tiny yet very expensive. The service was very slow. Had the gosht was very salty.
i love this restaurant...delicious food- peshawari goshth is the best ever tasted- priced slightly high but willing to pay that much for the delicious food.
Although a bit pricey, I thought the food was really authentic. We ordered a fish dish and chicken jalfrezi - very nice. The chappli kebabs were v good too. Luvd the decor - very colourful.
Went there for the first time last week and was very impressed. It is a bit pricey , however I think it's worth it. Try the Achari Chicken I love that shiznit.
a seriously good place to eat, good food. has purdah area for families, so it does think about issues for muslims. clean and decent. do agree portions are a little smaller but quality and taste is above average
This restaurant seems to attract poor ratings but I think the main reason for this is simply that this balti house caters more for the Asian taste and tongue - I think some of their dishes are poor, but Lamb Stew, for instance, is the best balti I have tasted in all of Birmingham. The naans and chapattis are well done, the service is excellent. I read a review complaining about the lassi tasting like off milk - obviously this person has not researched exactly what an authentic lassi tastes like! Anyway, enough of my ranting - I go here every fortnight and I think the place rocks!
