A small resturant and take away off Gower Street in Central London that has been in business for over 20 years.

I used to vist Anwars alot during my university days, the food was always well cooked and fresh. The owners and workers were lovely and friendly. I went there recently after 3 years and they still recognised me ... i also found out from old customers that they have been there for over 20years...no theres somthing i dont see everyday
Food is not so great, it would be better if they cooked it fresh and didn't emerse all thier curries in kuwaiti oil slicks.
Similar to my brother (and friend) Jubril, I also ate here many times during my university term (many times with him!). My comments really echo his, and what lets this place down is that the food tended to be re-heated rather than fresh but still worth the visit!
I ate here throughout Uni-life as it was close to my university(UCL). Generally, the food is good and the staff are very very friendly. However, if its food can be made more fresh it would surely be a top class restaurant. Still recommend it though
Nice restuarant, friendly staff. Keema nan is large and meaty, i love it. The food is good and due to its success, they are currently refurblishing it. Allhumdurillah there is praying facility and free iftar during ramadhan.
Good hearty Pakistani fair. The staff is excellent. You must have the masala chai (spiced tea) and mango lassi in the summer when they use fresh mangoes. You can also pray downstairs in the basement.
The food is good enough though the minus points are that everything (even the nan bread) is reheated, which is not too bad except that they use a microwave. It is also perhaps a tad pricey for standard Indian fare. Friendly staff though.
I have eaten here several times. The food is a bit pricey and it's all reheated. The salads are ususally old and stale; the naan leathery and hard.
The restaurant is in a nice quiet corner of London. It's not very smart and looks dated. But both the food and service were decent. If you can get past the cafe looks and are in the area it's definatley worth a try but not worth a special trip.
