About Kasra Persian Grill

Chef and owner Morty Parsa first opened the doors to Kasra in 1999 at its original location in Westchase. Since the beginning, he has upheld an important standard to serve the most authentic Persian food with the best quality ingredients. Chef Morty follows in the footsteps of three generations of restauranteurs. A source of pride, his family 's acclaimed restaurant still stands today in one of the oldest and most historical parts of Tehran. Being immersed in the restaurant business from such a young age, Morty learned the quintessential care it takes to operate a restaurant.

Told me "no wait" for my party when I called earlier in the evening. When we arrived, were told that wait would be 30-45 min. The wait ended up being 1 hr 10 min; the owner was allowing people he knew to cut ahead without reservations. Owners were very unapologetic for their deceit. In addition they serve alcohol so not truly zabihah mix the halal with the haram.

Overpriced and not so great of service. Food is okay, but it defiantly doesn't deserve more than a 3 star rating.

Very good food and servie quality. Probably the best persian food in houston. It is a touch pricey but worth every penny. The chicken barg is to die for and the koobideh is very good as well.

It's not a bad Persian restaurant but not the best either. It caters more to the American crowd in terms of flavor. Not very authentic Persian. Hillcroft has better Persian food.

I had dinner there with afriend earlier today. We had both, chicken & beef kababs & both were good. The service was good & efficient in spite of them being very busy. I was disappointed however that I only found out when we were leaving that they served alcohol. Zabihah.com should really consider not listing establishments that sell alcohol or pork on it's trustd website.

I went there month ago. There was a 40min line since it was weekend dinner time. The inside is nice and clean, a little pricey but. I guess i was expecting too much from it but the food tastes almost same as in other Persian rest.n

I am beginning to doubt this place. My family and I have been here plenty of times and I even called once to verify if the food is halal. I was told that everything is halal except for the jujeh kabab. It seems as if most people that posted here said its not zabiha so I really don't know.

almost all persian restaurants in Houston have the same food/menu. This one is a couple $ more pricier. I don't really feel comfortable paying $10 for 2 kabobs with rice. plus tax. plus tip.

Went to this place. I did have some doubt but the staff said it was halal and we saw other muslims eating there. The food was good, but not great. The service was terrible. Would not go back.

I called and they serve wine.. We should be careful, sitting in a place where there is a bar and people drink, is probably more prohibited than eating meat which is questionable.

The decor is very nice, but the restaurant is quite expensive. Dishes can vary. My friend had a really tasty salmon kebab, but my sister did not like her lamb shank. We all tried it and found that the sauce had a strong latex/rubber flavor -- so much that it was inedible. I would go back for a special occasion, but I would stay away from that lamb dish myself.

This was my first time going to this restaurant, and I would have to say hands down my worst experience at any restaurant. First of all after reading the reviews here, I would have chose not to eat here because of the zabihah issue, but there was a party so I had to go. I chose to go with the seafood platter. I dont mind spending 20 dollars on a plate, but I expect something good and filling. This plate was far from it. Not good at all. The worst thing was the service. I asked for the bill, and the waiter showed me a calculator, and the price was higher than what it was supposed to be. He showed me on the calculator a total of $17.79, I gave him my credit card and he charged $18.00. Since when do they round up. I still left a tip, but as I was filling it out, he watched over my shoulder. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone.

This place may be halal but its not Zabihah. KASRA name should be taken out of this site, cuz this site is suppose to be for the people who really care what they r putting int heir mouth. I'm giving them very poor rating because they misleading the people by saying that its Halal.

I used to eat there (Hilcroft location) until I found out first hand that their meats (beef&chicken) are not zabiha. Like others I was told the meat was halal; in some peoples minds halal mean anything but pork. I found that some will only tell you when you mention the word "zabiha" (there is a difference (in their minds)) I used to work for a restaraunt supply company that delivered at least 2 to 3 times a week (paper&plastic). I used to see with my own eyes the meat deliveries come in the back door. If you really care about whether its zabiha or not, politely ask the owner or manager to see their weekly invoices for meat deliveries.

Very good food. Charge extra $2 for cranberry and nuts on rice without telling you about the extra charge. Environment is good but becomes crowded and noisy on weekends.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and great food. They assured us yesterday that all their meats are halal. I also scrutinized the menu thoroughly and did not see any Canadian bacon anywhere. Please do not post lies.

This is one of my and my family's favorite restaurants. It is very authentic (my Irani friend recommended it to me), has delicious food, friendly staff, generous portions, and is reasonably priced. They can accomodate large groups and take reservations. The only reason I don't eat there more often is because it is a bit of a drive from where I live. I've never had any worries about not being zabiha (one of my best friends knows the owners).

they are halal...why is this on the "inactive" list? there is only one item on their menu which is not halal and they will tell you that, if you ask of course. this is one of my favorite persian restaurants by far. if darband is on the active list, then this should be as well because both have non-halal dishes as well.
