Olive Café & Bakery

I was visiting Kansas city for some corporate training and found this little Middle Eastern store/eatery in a strip mall that can easily be missed 9 out of 10 times if you are driving by it. I tried their food at dinner the first night of my stay and was blown away by the quality, taste and quantity of it. I visited them for the next 2 days straight and enjoyed their lunch buffet as well as their dinner items or specials from their menu. I don\'t need to rewrite what everybody has already written about how authentic their taste it. Amazing chicken and beef kabobs as well as salads, humus, baba ganoush and grilled veggies etc. I am still not sure how these people make any money because the prices are super low for the quantity and quality of the food offered. The place is not by any means a top for ambiance but they keep it reasonably clean and the guy behind the counter is super friendly and courteous so I would go there every time I am back in Kansas city. One of the best Middle Eastern food that I have tried anywhere in USA.

Delicious Friday afternoon buffet with lamb, chicken, vegetarian, fish, felafel, and most importantly, their fresh baked Pita bread. Clean tidy grocery with restaurant seating area at the side. According to the article, this brother supplies pita to most eateries in the area... Add it to your list when you\'re in the area!

This is the best place that serves Arabic food in Kansas city, that does not mean that their food is the best, but they are the best on that area.

My husband and I are regular shoppers here. We get pita bread and other grocery supplies, spices etc from here. This is a neat little store but their hot food section-no doubt-is the best part about this store. Try the shawarma-wrap (shrap!). The portions are huge with nice and juicy pieces of chicken or beef and an amazing cheese sauce.

Really love the food, especially the hummus and chicken. I actually use to drive 20min just to eat their food.

We shop and eat regularly at Olive Cafe. We especially love the gyro pita sandwiches for $4.99. They are delicious and full of meat...the best gyro sandwiches in Kansas City! Plus, the grocery section includes a great variety of cheeses, meats, teas, sweets, spices, & canned and frozen foods. Thank you Olive Cafe!

My husband and I were visiting from out-of-town and found this place because it is by Nur Imports. I haven't had good Mediterranean food like this in about a year. I told my husband that we had to start coming here everytime we are in the KC area. The sandwich was huge and cost only $5 and a bowl of hummus with pita was $4. They also had the fresh pita bread for sale, which was awesome. It is kind of like a warehouse, so it wasn't really tidy and atmospheric, but the food ROCKED!

I often visit Kansas City, and always go to this restaurant. They have a new place, but it is a combination of grocery store and restaurant, so if you want a cozy and formal environment this is not the place for you. But if you are into good middle eastern food, this is a good place. I have lived in Michigan so I know the real taste of Arabic food and this restaurant is upto that standard. I always try there chicken kababs, hammus and baba ghanoosh. Good Muslim brothers, good service, cheap price and extra size. It is also very close to a big mosque.

Their fresh pita bread is the best one I ever have had. The food is great and prices are very reasonable. Foods are 100% halal and Brother Rashid is a very nice man. My son and I eat there on almost every Sunday.

The best thing about this place is the fresh pita bread, though it coasts $2. The groceries are good but the food I do not know, I hardly eat in that place.

Unfortunaetly, I saw dirty cooking utensils, dirty walls, dirty eating areas in this estabishment.
