Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status.. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.
Bosphorus Kebabs is a small Turkish kebab eatery popular in this well-heeled area of London since 1974.

I have been here many times, and the food is always fantastic.
Good kebabs but have given 3 starts since any sauces e.g. chili/garlic do not come as standard, as you have to pay extra for these which is a little annoying considering the price for the kebab is already relatively high
Great tasting healthy food.polite staff but very little seating.would definitely visit again when in vicinity
Went here after reading so much praise for this place. Very tasty and fresh kebab, however, there is a lack of seating and at the end of the day you could have a normal kebab anywhere in London. Went there for the novelty, wont be going all the way to West London again for it though.
very good food, only downside is lack of seating, would go again.
Been a customer of this shop, for many a year. I cannot stress how good these kebabs taste for those of you , who have not tried it. On the minus side, shop is small and decor is dated. On the plus side, the food is fresh and the portions large. Try it. You have been warned.
The second best Doner Kebab in London. Can't say where the first is but that tells you how good this is. An old favourite of mine whenever I'm in Central London. Excellent service, small place very tight but none of that matters. Definitley recommended.
There are literally hundreds of similar Turkish kebab houses in London, mostly in Hackney, Stoke Newington, Haringey, but none nearby Bosphorus (the nearest one could well be Star Kebab House in Earls Court, two tube stations away!). I have eaten several times at this place, and the food is just average, nothing spectacular but not a complete disaster. Their biggest problem is with the grill, which is covered with iron rails, like those in American hamburger cafes. This prevents charcoal heat to cook the meats properly. Moreover, the kebab pieces, be it lamb, chicken or "kofta", on the "shish" are way too large, and this forces them to cut the pieces in half, halfway during the grill process. Otherwise, the inner parts of the meat would not be cooked. But this is a big no-no. You should cut the individual pieces in such a way that while the whole piece will be well cooked. I did not try the "doner" (or shawarma), since it did not look attractive and I think most of the "doner" I saw in London is a very poor imitation of Turkish doner. The place also had some hygiene problems, probably due to its miniscule size, but still of some concern to me. Final verdict: an average place whose major plus is its location.
very little seating so beware if you are a family going here. There are some other halal places nearby but not so nice
i thank this site for revealing this shop to me. i was firstly sceptical, thinking its 4.7 rating from 17 reviews, many more reviews than the other highly rated establishments. But it is every bit as good as the reviewers have pointed out. Full of flavour and very tender. i go for the large mixed grill for main and humus and garlic mayo with hot pitta for starters.
In terms of depth and width, I have always personally considered Turkish cuisine amongst the top three cuisines in the world (the other two being Italian and Chinese). Living in Northern New Jersey (USA) and having traveled to Turkey umpteen times, I have had the good fortune of visiting some really decent Turkish restaurants. Nonetheless on my regular visits to London I have always missed Turkish food since there a definite absence of really good Turkish restaurants in London. The few that exists are high on ambience and low on food. Ofcourse all that changed once I found Bosphorous. This is a gem of a place. A very small restaurant almost entirely catering to Take Out or as the English say, "Take away" business. The Kebabs at Bosphorous are just fantastic, just as good as what you would find in Turkey or in Northern New Jersey (thanks to a huge Turkish population in the NY/NJ/CT tri-sate area of USA).
The quality of the meat is fantastic, all looks clean and is tasty if a little on the bland side if you have a pakistani palate. I thought it was ok overall, maybe expectations too high having read the reviews on this site. Definitely recommend giving it a try. Only downside is lack of sitting space. In reality a takeaway joint.
I must confess that I was a sceptic at first but once i tasted those kebabs....it changed my life. The number of reviews that have pointed out the top quality meat used by the bospherous which i agree with!
This place really is the business, for one thing you didn't find the normal side dishes that our found at most kebab places like chips etc. Instead the menu was very authentic, the meat was of high quality, the hummous and youghurts were top class.
Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Bhosphorus has the best kebab's in London and it is so healthy food, less fat and more greens. Quick and clean as well. Great place to eat for snack or meal.
Bustling, friendly and vibrant place. Food is tasty and authentic. No cop outs to western taste here. Well worth a try. Takes me back to Turkey.
Excellent place to eat - the meat is really good quality and I'm told made on the premises. The donor is lean and tasty. The only thing that lets the place down a little is the lack of good seating but that adds to the atmosphere really! Have a read of some of the messages written by customers if you get time (and space)!
I would be bold enough to say that there are no kebabs available as tasty and high quality meat as this anywhere in London. The brothers give salaam etc, they have signs up, they have ayats up etc
Good kebabs. Good for takeaways.
If there's any thing wrong with your kebab, they will trash it and give you a new one without any quibbles. That's probably why they are so popular !
I hope this is the kebab place on south kensington. First introduced to this place by my cousin, during my student days in England (I think it was back in '95 or '96). I have remembered their excellent kebabs ever since. Unfortunately, did not have time to drop by when I was last in London last year. Hopefully, it will still be there when I can next manage another visit.
Excellent Kebabs! Check their in store reviews for more info! ;)
Excellent kebabs; possibly one of the best places I've eaten in London. I recommend the Lamb Steak, served on a bed of rice, along with a dollop of houmous. While you're waiting, check out the multilingual messages on the wall. Can be a little crowded as space is limited, so try and come as a group of up to 3. A favourite among Imperial College students, for whom this is the only halal place in the direct vicinity.
