Toko Rame Halal

I am not an Indonesian food specialist, but the food was wonderful. The place is small but they are big on hospitality. Been there twice. I would go here more if it was close to me. I thought a little pricey but worth it.

Best beef rendang I\'ve ever had, and my wife agrees and she is from Singapore. Food is absolutely delicious, I get the Nasi Rames combo every time although I probably should try some other options. New management is very good and most importantly has kept the chef who is from Padang, Indo... anyone who knows their stuff knows that Padang is where authentic quality rendang comes from.

I ate here few time! They do have great friendly service!

Food was not bad and the quantity was a lot for the price. We got the fried tofu and tempe which I thought was ok but a little too greasy. The BBQ chicken with sweet soy sauce tasted like Indomie noodles and that was also ok. The Special fried rice with shrimp and chicken was whatever. I wouldn't mind trying other items at this restaurant.

I visit this restaurant yesterday. Seems that they finally have merchant account and take Visa/Mastercard, with $0.50 surcharge per transaction. Food service improve. Food taste ius awesome. I order the tahu/tempe goreng as appetizer. Lontong Special toko rame as main, and pack nasi bungkus to go. Definitely coming back for more.

The food was delicious. It is less spicy than what you would expect in Jakarta. However, it is definatley a place that I go to for Indonesian food. The Nasi bungkus is delicious .

Hmmm, I expected nothing less than spectacular and was sorely disappointed.

It was the first time my wife and I experienced Indonesian food. We ordered the number 10 from the menu. The food was good overall but a bit too spicy for my wife.

We visited Toko Rame recently and were delighted with the food. I've eaten at Padang (West Sumatra) restaurants before in Indonesia and this restaurant is on par. We had the Beef Rendang, Chicken Rendang (must try items), spicy Sumatra chicken curry. (Items 81, 82, 83 on the menu). Masha'Allah!

Awesome place! A large variety of Indonesian dishes, all of which are very different than anything I've had before (I'm new to indonesian food). It's a small place with limited seating, and it seems to be family run, so there isn't much of a staff but everything went smoothly enough (and I like slightly ghetto, though I should say my wife - who doesn't like ghetto - loved the place also). The food was stunning, we had #10 and #17 and one of the tropical fruit desserts and we loved it.

Good small place for indonesian food. Prices are reasonable but portions are small. Does NOT accept credit cards, service is somewhat slow, but food is good although the last few times the meat has been rubbery.

excellent food, not great service. In addition we have made several trips to the establishment at 7:40 only to find it closed already. What is the point of having hours of operation if you don't abide by them? Also - portions are getting smaller, prices are going up. We still go, because the food is excellent. I just find these trends discouraging.

A small specialty restaurant operated by a sister wearing hijaab. We tried a few dishes and they were all delicious. Very close to freeway 91, literally right at the exit. It is not the five star restaurant you would take your boss, but a small clean place you may enjoy with your family. A big halal sign is on the window. They do not accept credit cards, so be prepared to by cash. Definately I would recommend it to everybody.

We loved the food here - The rice / noodle portions are big enough for two people - The toko rame chicken was awesome (a bit on the sweet side) - Beware the Belanese beef was really spicy.

The best Indonesian food I have tried in California. Worth the 6hr drive from Mountain View, CA. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Price is reasonable and taste like home cooked food. Must try the Nasi Bungkus which is the rice wrap in banana leave with chicken, beef rendang, egg and tofu. We're coming back again tomorrow to try the rest on the menu.

"As out-of-towners on a recent visit to nearby Long Beach (21 Dec 02), we went looking for this restaurant. We were astounded to be turned away at 7:45PM on a Saturday night because the restaurant's regular closing hour is 8PM every night. Dinner-goers, therefore, beware. Alas, we will have to wait until next time, Deo Volente, to taste the Indonesian delicacies of this stripmall diner."

Food was excelent and price was cheap also, but they take cash only.

This restaurant was closed for a while but is now back. The food is excellent, especially the satay. The combination plate (nasi goren) is also very good. Restaurant is neat and clean (albeit small and basic) and the service wasa just fine. We hope to visit again and again.

Toko Rame Has excellent food! Eating at Toko Rame is like eating home cooked Indonesian/Malaysian food. The satay, toko rame & es teller are exceptional.

Outstanding Satay! Unbelievably delicious Es Chendol! This is one of the best Indonesian/Malay restaurants I've ever eaten at! Highest recommendation!

The Toko Rame chicken with spicy soy sauce is really excellent. I think it is the house specialty. Every thing else tasted really new and strange to me. But it is worth going just for the Toko Rame chicken with spicy soy sauce. The helping is huge and it is not expensive.
