Food used to be amazing, however recently they have changed the rice and that ruins the flavor, not going back as often as I used to

This place was fantastic! Unfortunately it has closed down and relocated to Richmond Hill awhile ago. Owners currently have no plans to return to Toronto downtown. This entry should be deleted or updated.

The halal sign has come down, but there is still verbal assurance from the staff that the food is halal. I would recommend the lamb chops with rice.

Visiting Toronto from Los Angeles, checking out the local Halal restuarants. Met a friend in downtown, he took me to this place. No one had cash and he looked at me and said, "You come here all the time, you can pay me next time." I guess I have a look a around here. We orded and my friend went to get the cash to pay him. We each ordered a different meal and split them so we could try everything, food was great.

I beg to differ with all the positive comments here. I tried their beef sandwich and I didn't like it one bit. It was a complete waste of money. I've had better sandwiches elsewhere. Perhaps their other items are good, but their beef (or seekh kabab) sandwich wasn't worth it.

Awesome Food! The place is always packed and it's small so I suggest take-out. Only ask for sauce on the rice if you want it spicy. The ground beef is good but the chicken kebabs are extremely tasty. Best persian restaurant in town.

Dito to Imran and Safia... This isn't a fancy place, but looks can and are deceiving. This restaurant is absolutely terrific (my mouth is watering while I write and reminisce)! My husband and I are both Iranian so imagine our surprise and pleasure when we found that this little place serves wonderful Iranian food! The food is made and garnished (thus the margarine packet - we like to put butter on our rice) according to Persian recipes and culture. For our weekend get-away, we decided that we will definately come back for a second helping. In addition to the kebobs, be sure to try the stew-and-rice dishes that are advertised on the right hand wall as you enter the restaurant - they look nothing like the faded pictures and taste a whole lot better than the pictures make you think.

My friends and I found this place while wandering around, and looking for the all elusive "Halal" sign. Me and three other friends went and ordered what turned out to be fantastic meals. THe beef kebabs are tender and awesome, the chicken ones are great too. I also tried the lamb, but thought it was a little tough. I've been back since, and loved it again. Portions are pretty huge, and ask for the sauce on the rice!

While visiting Toronto for a friend's wedding, I saw this place randomly and decided to check it out. This fine establishment has all the requisite trappings of an authentic "hole-in-the-wall:" the cozy seating area, misspelled menu items, a friendly propietor, you name it. As one would expect, the menu consists of various types of kebobs. I tried the ground beef, chicken, and steak ones. The beef ones were delicious while the chicken seemed a little undercooked. The price was not bad (under ten canadian dollars). The most curious aspect of the place was the fact that each plate of basmati rice comes with a single-serving packet of margarine.
