Although place looks clean at first, its not a great restaurant to be. Food was average. You could smell the bathroom even from the main entrance door. Forget about the customer service. You will not even get a smile. You could spend 150-200 dollars with >20% tip but you will not get thanks or smile! I was so discouraged to tip these people who had no sense of customer service. women who work over there were rude and guys were clueless who to serve. Bad place to go. I would have returned ignoring the smell but their bad attitude and poor customer service is very discouraging. ! If you do decide to go there, don\\\'t expect even a smile. Eat, pay and head out without any tip as they don\\\'t deserve the tip.
Was in a hurry and in this neighborhood before jummah so I stopped in. Service was fast and the place is clean; but the beef kabob was honestly not that good. Not terrible, but I\'m in no hurry to go back.
Would never recommend to anyone.. very bad taste food.
I have only tried this place two times, and both times for weekend brunch buffet so my opinion may be a little biased based on this limited and unique exposure. Overall .... I am not too impressed and I am not very hard to please when it comes to Pakistani food. I am giving the place three stars because of the variety of the food but not the quality. There are some items that are excellent, such as \"paya\", chana masala & haleem. Then there are others which are not too good such as omlette, tandoori chicken, fish, naans and poori. Nihari and the other curry dishes are average but everything is way too greasy for my liking or anybody\'s health in general. Eating this food is like putting a grease iv directly into your blood stream. Secondly, I am not too sure which item is it but something definitely does not agree with my stomach here because both times I ate here I had to take Pepto Bismol to save the day. The first time, I admit, I over ate but the second time I ate well below my capacity but still had an upset stomach. But I am such a sucker for desi food that I will probably go there again.
Comfortable restaurant with good ambiance except the buffet and the back area. Mess is clearly visible at the buffet bar and when going to the restaurant. Going to the food, it is tasty but EXPENSIVE! Ordered mix grill platter ($19.99), mutton biryani ($13.99), and nihari ($12.99). Gill platter and nihari was good but the biryani was alright. For $19.99 and the portion of grill platter, it is pretty expensive for I don\'t know why. For 2 people, expect to spend between $35-50 at least.
Two words \"Stay Away\" ! Dishonest, incompetent people with no concept of customer service and a mentality to just rip people off . I ordered nihari, biryani and haleem from their lunch menu on their website during weekday lunch hour. When I went to pick up the food, they charged me dinner or full prices for the items. When I showed the cashier their own website, he refused to honor the correct pricing providing no clear context or logic. The owner was contacted over the phone and on social media but refused to respond and rectify the discrepancy. The food was just average too but the main concern is their open display of false advertisement. I won\'t be going back and same is the case with multiple other folks who have had similar experiences in the not so distant past.
This place used to be EXCELLENT till 2016. After the owners daughter took over, she drove Customer Service down the drain. These are her excuses when someone gives her feedback: 'Oh, I am short of staff....', '..u know how desi customers are...', '...sorry for bad experience. come back next time and we will take care of you.' Food quality has gone down a little bit but Customer Service dropped few notches. This new owner will flop this restaurant by the way I had 3 experiences and some friends have blacklisted this place.
Their good quality has been really bad lately. I used to love their nehari and was happy to pay 12.99 for nehari. Now neither nehari nor price dazzle me. Long live al markaz
Been going to place for years, unfortunately the food quality has taken a nose dive. Stick with the chicken thika as that was the only good thing we had. The nihari and bhari kabob did not taste fresh. The daal and Chicken rashimi kabab were also sub par. At least the chai was ok.
Excellent food and variety. Wish bathrooms were cleaner though. Definitely recommend for quality info/Pak food.
we just had a brunch buffet on sunday. It was pretty good. The place was super busy and we had to sit on the other side next door. But i give them 5 because the food quality and quantity was super. Keep it up!
I went there couple of times. It's ok. It could be better. Food sometimes it's good some time ok.
BBQ Tonite is one of the goto places for a brunch buffet with a good selection of halal desi style food. Desi style of course means the oily, spicy and fully loaded dishes like nihari, paya, haleem and biryani. They do not change most of their dishes on the buffet or the menu from whence coming here almost half a decade back. Their service is OK but food both in buffet and on menu is flavorful and authentic especially the mutton biryani. Here\'s a list of dishes in the buffet that never change: Aloo curry, chana curry, egg bhurji, suji halwa, naan, puri, dahi wada, chana chaat, grilled chicken tikka, nihari, paya, haleem, chicken curry, mutton curry, chicken/mutton biryani, kheer... While they might not go down in history for being the best in quality and price they certainly satiate the inner desi enough to keep coming back again and again.
The Eid buffet was delicious and fresh. We particularly enjoyed the chicken tikka, aloo baingan, and channa masala. We had heard the food quality at this place was not the best, but we were pleasantly surprised!
I've been coming here for over 10 years, have catered a number of parties from this establishment and have to say the quality of food and cleanliness of the restaurant varies wildly. I can live with that as it's part and parcel of eating at most Pakistani restaurants, but the clincher for me is the owner's propensity for dishonesty over $10, $20 or other paltry amounts. Recently, I ate here with a large family group and when it came time to pay the bill I sent my son to the cashier with the credit card folio to speed things up. The owner added $20 to the bill and tried to persuade my son to sign the credit card receipt. My son realized the crooked attempt and brought the receipt back to the table, whereupon the owner fled in fear. Of course his wife apologized on his behalf and updated the bill accordingly but this was the last straw in a string of minor attempts at larceny that I or others it know have experienced at this establishment. Needless to say I won't be eating here again.
Moved here from California a couple of years ago and this is our designated place for auhentic Pakistani food. Nihari and Chicken Chargha with thei authentic kandhari naans (roghni nans) are awesome
they recently opened bundu khan. food was great but quantity was extremely small. for 10$, they gave behari kabob that was smaller than samosa.
we expected to get good Tikka Kebobs but nothing was good, just a waste of money. This place does not know what's pakistani food and don't know how to make Tikka Kebobs. never going back again. I recently visit to Bundoo Khan, Karachi and asked them if they open a branch in Carrollton, Texas and answer was NO. I don;t know why Me. Saleem lies to his customers and tell thet are same as Bundoo Khan, Karachi. toy guys need to hire goos shef who know how to make Tikka and Kebob instead of lies...
Average food but poor management. NOT going back again, 2 stars for food and none for management.
I ordered food for pickup yesterday, 08/08/13, and it was absolutely disgusting and horrible. First, I ordered bahari kebab ($9.99), seekh kebab ($7.99), grilled chops ($17.99), nehari ($8.99), shrimp masala ($12.99), dal fry ($6.99), and 3 extra naan ($3.45), which totals to $74.03 w/tax; I got charged $84.29. I wouldn't say this was an oversight, but I'm more inclined to believe they cheated me (and probably other) takeout orders in the Eid rush yesterday. The food was so gross and a complete waste of money, nothing taste like it should have, everything was extremely salty, and so poorly prepared. The behari kebab literally taste like raw and rotten meat, I couldn't even swallow the first bite. The shrimp masala looked like garbage and wasn't even a half cup total. The dal fry was the most watery "dal fry" I've ever seen. The nehari lacked all of the flavors that make nehari nehari and almost no one wanted to touch the questionable meat it contained. Furthermore, nearly all of the dishes that were liquid had spilled out in to the carry out bags they were in because their PAPER lids soaked through. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to pack up the food like that, but with food so terrible, I'm not surprised. Overpriced nasty food naturally means cheap flimsy containers according to this poor excuse for a restaurant. I may seem upset about it today, but this was after I calmly called the store owner Saleem this afternoon. Let me preface this by saying my extended family has known Saleem for about 12 years, they have had weddings, walimas, brunches, and Eids in the event hall and main restaurant before. I never thought the food was anything special or different from other places in the past, but last night's food set an all time low. Now back to the story, I called Saleem who first listened to my complaint and then proceeded to brush me off by saying, "Did you see the crowd" of people eating buffet?" As if it were some sort of excuse. I then said, I don't think you served the expensive grilled lamb chops, shrimps, and behari kebab I ordered to buffet eaters so why would that affect the quality of those dishes? I then heard the phone click, he had hung up on me. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and immediately called back two more times and he ignored my phone calls. As a last effort, I wanted to let the employee working there today know that I was over charged and he was very nice about it. I then asked him to please hand the phone to Saleem's wife, who was the one with the mathematical skills last night on the register, which he did and again I heard the phone click. The owners are completely rude and unprofessional and if they can treat people like me who they are familiar with for many years like this, I can't imagine how they would treat a new customer. People who are not familiar with Indo-Paki cuisine or those of you who are and want excellent food, please do not come here because you will regret it. I am baffled as to how this place even has semi-decent reviews, they must ask friends/force employees to post fake reviews for them. I for one will never buy food from here again because you might as well throw your money in the trash where their food belongs.
Mein last Sunday ko gaya tha bbq tonite Muje bathroom jana tha lekin mein galath dervase mein chalagya. Waan pe Salim Bhai lassi mein pishab kar raha tha.
I thought they are same as Bundoo Khan, Plano but make a big mistake to go BBQ Tonight and found they aren't belong to Bundoo Khan Plano, NEVER going back to eat Tikka Kebob. They are ok for Buffett but not BBQ...
Buffet is a little overrated. This place is known for its BBQ items, but only has one BBQ item on the buffet at all times (Tandoori chicken). Need to get a bit more creative with that offering. However, the mixed grill for $15 is enough for two and the decor in this place is above average for a desi place with good food (bad tasting restaurants always have good decor ;). All and all avoid the buffet and get the mixed grill and you'll go home happy. Fishstickeater knows best!
Okay.... The food from this place is very yummy. Their Chicken Thika is very good and sometimes their Haleem. The waitors and the manager person are all very friendly. The bathrooms are just ok...
V reasonably priced at $12.99 and a great value. I took out-of-town visiting family there for Sunday brunch and were one of the first dozen to arrive just after they opened at 11. The fact that it got v. crowded v. fast attests to its popularity. Food: Great variety of entrees, sides as well as snacks (chaat, dahi baraa, etc). Multiple desserts and great pre-mixed desi tea. Halva puri was excellent, everything clearly from scratch. Service: Attentive and unobtrusive. Used dishes/plates were removed promptly from our table and water pitcher refilled without asking. Seamless replenishment of line items.
I was quite disappointed at the quality of food in Carrollton after visiting the Houston location. The restaurant was packed however, nothing seemed tasty or exceptional. I might give this another try.
This place is nasty. Went with a large group and everyone had stomach aches and diarrhea problems afterwards. Would highly recommend staying away.
Great food.
Ate at the weekend buffet here. The food was average at best and I was disappointed with the number of dishes available. There are plenty of sets available though.
I went there today and got tandoori charga/chicken balti. It was simply the best charge and chicken balti I had. Anytime I am in Dallas again, I will be going to BBQ Tonite. Customer service is also A+.
I have been there mostly for weekend buffet, It used to have a lot of variety, but not anymore. These it's simpled desi buffet with biryani, tikka, nihari & paye. The best part is, I find fresh food each time I visited. Buffet is pricey for number of dishes currently they serve.
I had heard some good stuff about this restaurant and had read some reviews online. So I was anxious to try it out. But it so happened that we at the time were looking for a place to host our daughters aqeeqah and son's birthday party and they have two banquet rooms. So we decided to host our party there. The owner was very friendly and very accomodating to our needs. We felt so at home and stress free because he was willing to work so well with our needs. Our party was a success and it was mostly due to the owner. I'm so glad we had our party here. The food was awesome and our guests loved it. We had a mix of guests, indian, white etc. and they all loved the food. They hall itself was really nice and everything was setup very well. He had a centerpiece in each table as well... the only thing we had to do was add some ballons and banners. The place looked nice with all the organization they had done. There was a stage with really nice chairs so we were able to take nice family pictures. Since we had an aqeeqah he also did the zabihah for us and used that meat in the food. I was so happy with how everything turned out and the owner was so willing to help us out in any way. Our party was on a Saturday... and we ended up going there for the Sunday brunch with all the family we had from out of town (about 30 of us). The owner accomodated our large party with tables set up for us in the large banquet room. The brunch food was awesome as well and our guests all loved it. I absolutely love this place and the owners and I will keep coming back to this place and bringing guests and visitors. I would totally recommend it to anyone for the Saturday and Sunday brunch and if you are wanting to host a party. Great first time experience and looking forward to many more.
Nasty, old food, and 2 costly!
We have been going therte for almost 6 years. We usually go there on Saturdays for lunch. There is a large variety of food. It has spacious areas for events etc.. overall the best desi restaurant in Dallas area..
A traditional desi restaurant with a pretty large buffet selection. Food is average, especially chicken tikka and the korma, etc. Nihari and biryani is pretty good. Its large open place, pretty clean, and kid friendly. I found it a bit on the pricy side. Overall, decent, but there are better choices in the vicinity.
Had chicken tikka and goat chops. Excellent food, but the prices are a bit high.
I was travelling through Dallas and stopped here for a bite to eat. The place is in a quiet strip mall with not much else around it. However, the food was pretty good. It had some spice to it, but not too much which is good if you don't like too much hot pepper. I had the chicken tikka and kabobs with naan. Also, complimentary chai afterwards which was as good as the chai at home. It says halal "unverified" but the menu states on the back that it 100% zabihah halal and I received verbal reassurance from the staff as well. It is about a half mile down the road from a masjid. There is also a sweet/pastry shop next door if you are in the mood for dessert.
If your'e thinkin about goin to a traditional desi restaurant tonight, then this is the place in dallas so far. Food is good especially tikka, biryani, etc. Food is pretty expensive though so you can't come here all the time. The sunday brunch is awesome though really good food there. Staff is kind as well.
I have been to their Saturday brunch and it was excellent. So many choices. The only thing I didn't like was the environment the Indian channel on the TV showing almost naked Indian songs. They should be family friendly and people don't want to sit with the families watching Indian movies while eating. Otherwise good.
The platter is pretty good. Beef is a bit dry. I like how they give you a pitcher of lassi!
Went for Sunday Brunch... It was chaotic and ordinary. They went unable to refill the food items on time and there were long delay and lines on the buffet table. The management was very Unprofessional and Rude. When I asked about the Zabihah Meat verification, the owner didn't provide a straight answer and went into randon rent and raves.
I personally like BBQ Tonite's food a lot. Their chicken tikka is good from time to time. Their Sunday buffet is also very good. The owner is very friendly.
Food is backwards...They have good curry and biryani, but BBQ was terrible. Why call yourself BBQ without good grill items?
The food at BBQ tonite is very tasty, a little pricy when you order separate dishes though. Sunday brunch is awesome...although this Ramadhan Iftar wasnt good at all
For anyone wondering if the place is halal-zabiha, according to the staff it is (I asked). To me, the staff was very nice. I met the owner/manager, he asked me how things were, and how to improve the menu. I like the food. It is like how food is in Karachi if you go to normal restaurants there (not fancy foo-foo places). It is as authentic as you get in the US (where else can you get brain nihari if you ever want it). The menu is pretty varied in range from sea food and vegitarian food to hardcore meat dishes. The restaurant is clean, and has a nice semi-formal decore. Prices are average, food is on the good side. I would recommend it
food is tasty, lots of items, usually this place is very crowded...u can dine once in a while!good luck!
Once again experienced a quality food on sunday brunch. Good taste, many items and reasonably priced
very good and delicious food...best buffet in whole texas...very friendly enviroment..very nice service even though they are so busy on weekends
This place is horrible! There is nothing authentic about it! And talk about rude service! My family and I waited for the longest time just for our naan the come to the table and when we spoke to the owner about it he kicked us out telling us to never come back again! He needs an attitude adjustment. Overall the place is way below average. There buffet price is ALWAYS more expensive! YUCKY food YUCKY people!
The food is decent - it's been pretty much the same for many years now. Not the best Pakistani/Indian cuisine in town. Their main focus seems to be on catering, and it gets pretty busy. The Sunday lunch buffet seems to be a good gauge and allows you to try all their big items on the menu.
The lunch buffet is very good. There are a lot of items on the buffet line including various sweets. Great for banquets.
Amazing food. The best Desi food in DFW. There is a certificate in the main hall which proves the food is Zabiha.
Excellent food, BBQ tonite is our favoutire hangout everytime we go to Dallas. If you are looking for style perhaps you should venture towards Haveli. If it's the authentic taste from the mother land you crave this place is it. As truely authentic Pakistani as it gets. I do concur with some other comments about the change in chef on weekends and weekdays, the food is definately much better on the weekend buffets. Sunday brunch is the best of the lot, halva puri and lunch buffet in one sitting.
nice place to eat at..we go there whenever we visit dallas from oklahoma, food is tasy
Excellent Lunch Buffet and Cheap. Ghlab Jaman & Chicken Makhani are super rated Delicious. Thanks to Zabihah.com that provide us info, so it help persons like me travelling from other states.
Best food I have eaten in the Dallas area. Mutton Biryani is the best! Sunday brunch rocks too!
All i can say abt BBQ is that i love it...
Food is very satisfied and sizzling. It would be nice if they "reduce" the prices on their menu.It is quiet expensive.
"I ate there at least 5 to 6 times and had stomach problem each time. first I thought it was just my imagination but later on after switching restaurants I went back to cofirirm and I had the same problem again. They seems like are adding somthing to their buffet dished which is creating gas in your stomach. My advice, don't go there."
"Very good grilled food, especially tandoori chicken, and biryani is good too. Catering service is excellent; hall is drab. Don't know why poster above casts doubt on the chicken - many families cater from here,"
I ate their buffet which gave you an opportunity to try different traditional Pakistani foods. The Naans were my favorite! The split-pea dish was well seasoned, and the BBQ chicken was great! Service was excellent and everything appeared clean. The cons were mainly cosmetic. The wallpaper and baseboards needed repair or replacing, and the light fixtures could be updated.
Some of the dishes are excellent. Others are just good. In all a good place to eat. The chicken may not be zabihah; needs more investigation.
Food is OK...nothing outstanding. Several restaurants in Dallas with this class of food. However, a place everyone should try at least once.
Great Indo-Pak buffet. Very delicious chicken tikka, nehari & paya. Kheer is very flavorful. The food presentation is A+!
