The staff of this restaurant has verbally confirmed halal status. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.
One of the largest and most well-stocked Halal supermarkets in the US. Whole goat available here.

I don't know when we (Muslims) will have a clean, organized, honest supermarket in DC area... Halalco is another example about that. Worst customer service whether employees, sad cashiers, and management. YES I said management after having a problem in that store with the employee I found he was way better than his manager. Still dreaming to be in halal store in the area have clean butcher and clean machines. I used to spent $150- $200 every three weeks in that horrible store but not anymore done with it.
Great Buffet option . Def recommend the veal meal . If u love spicy then ur in for a treat. HalalCo is a great grocery store
a bit crowded with stuff small aisles but lots of frozen halal varieties and fresh meat varities basically a large desi superstore with praying area and small restaurnat not far from masjid i suggest they move some place where they can make bigger aisles and brighter cleaner store
Halalco has been my go-to halal meat shop since 2001, back when they operated out of that tiny shop overlooking the Falls Church across the street. I still drive 15 miles out one way to shop here! They have a large selection of meat and quality cuts, almost what you would expect out of non-halal grocery chains. Being a bit of a foodie, it is always great to find spices, different honey types, great olive oil selection, and other items here. I've heard some complain about the prices, but all I can say is unless there are more halal meat suppliers, we're subject to supply and demand, and given the professional job the guys at Halalco do, it's worth it. For those complaining of long lines, here's the trick: call like an hour or two ahead and leave an order for what you want for pickup. I've had to order large amounts of meat for parties and have had no problem.
This place is great. They have pretty much everything you'd want in a grocery store and it has a great reputation. They also have a selection of organic halal poultry which is an added bonus. If only they'd expand their organic halal meats - then it would be absolutely perfect for me.
I go to their books section and lose myself. They have a great collection of books and Islamic accessories.
This place truly has just about anything you could want from a halal grocery store. As others have stated, the prices could be better (esp. meat), but they have most types and cuts you could want, including steaks, duck, turkey, etc. I haven't had issues with customer service, except that there are few people working there and sometimes they are hard to locate. I have had the problem that idris mentions with their "Lebanese Kema" ground beef with spices added, which they sell at a lower price. It does appear to be dyed to look fresh, which is shameful (that explains the price!), and it has a chemically taste which leaves a person wondering. I haven't had that problem with their other ground beef or other meat items, which I have sampled extensively. They also have sales around/before both Eids, which is almost unheard of in halal stores and much appreciated at a time when one has to buy the most groceries. They also post their sales online at their website (halalco.com), where you can also place orders for qurbani at Bakra Eid time and turkeys at Thanksgiving time.
Alright to all those people who have said negative things about Halalco, I would say that they don't appreciate the effort those people are putting into that store.Best of all you can place order online also. Prices are a bit high and I can relate that to their humongous store. Books, grocery, clothing, meat, whatever you name it and they have it and if they don't have it they order it (I ordered a book). They need to work on their meat department (customer service wise). Other than that mashallah excellent place.
Not happy with customer service. SERIOUSLY. Probably the biggest store of its kind in this area, lots or wonderful books, lectures dvds, a restaurant, salat area, clothing, prayer rugs, instinja hoses, incense, kufis, jewelry, artwork, oils, Everything you could want. But service has NEVER been good for me, astaghfirullah, I don't like writing bad things about muslims and their businesses, but everytime I ordered meat at the counter I had to wait in line, and other people who came up after me got served first. I asked for help to find a vest and was treated rudely because the person didn't work in that dept., and other stuff happened I won't go into. BOTTOMLINE: Halalco has almost everything you need, but don't expect the great customer service of your local mom and pop. (Lebanese Butcher is located across street)
This is an excellent shop for Zabihah meat and other Islamic products. They also have a gigantic selection of South-Asian and Middle eastern grocery and food related products. This place operates like a chain grocery store (i.e. it's not your typical "mom&pop" halal meat store). The only drawback is that the price of fresh Zabihah meat is expensive.
First off let me state that Halalco is not your typical halal meat store. This truly looks, feels and operates like a chain grocery store (which is a great thing). However, with all the offerings and choice offered at Halalco, something's got to give....and yes, you guessed it....it's the price! I love going to Halalco whenever I'm in the area, however the pricing is wayyy high. For example, I paid $5.99/lb for regular ground beef. Chicken breast was also an astronomical $5.00+ per pound. The store is clean, sells anything you could want in a pakistani/indian/middle eastern grocery store. Truly, one of its kind here in DC. For that I rate it as "Above Average."
I like this place, not very clean but huge verity and reasonable priced. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Meats are good, marinated meats are delicious. I recommend this place.
I will never shop at Halalco again. I bought some meat, including some ground beef from there. The beef looked delicious when I bought it. When I got home, I cut it in half to freeze part of it, and to my surprise, there was only one thin layer of red around the meat, and the inside of the meat was BROWN and thus, old. In other words, it appears they put food coloring around the top of the ground beef so that it would look good in the package. This is dishonest, and they should be ashamed of themselves.
I'm addicted to Halalco's marinated chicken legs. They are always fresh but they seem to sell out quick...
Not the cleanest place, but they have more variety than any other Muslim grocery store I've been to in the DC area. Their meat is very fresh. They have Pakistani / Indian and Arab items.
Halalco was described to me as the largest halal store in the area, that being said, I have seen much bigger in California. Halalco has a great lineup of products from meat to groceries to islamic books, however, the organization of the store and the quality of the produce make this similar to most halal stores I have found here. The pattern that exists in this area is that most of these halal stores cater to the meat buyers and only carry produce on the side. As for the quality of the meat, I found it to be average but their selection of frozen meat products from Al-safa and the likes was quite large. They also do offer organic halal meat which I have never seen.
Wide variety of middle eastern, Pakistani and Indian products. Excellent halal meat. Not all prices are displayed on products. Needs a little bit of cleaning.
Best desi grocery store in area. It is clean, well organized, friendly staff, and good quality meat. The old man who cuts meat is nice and looks like knows what he is doing. I end up buying whatever meat he would be working on when I am in store even if I don't need it yet. Their prices are great too.
Alhamdullillah I too have had pleasant experiences with HalalCo. The meat was great. Fresh and tender. They let us pick the meat from the freezer and it was cut to our specs. Great expansion to a new bldg. Haven't tried the restaurant, will update once I do.
MashAllah this place is awesome!very good meat quality, huge variety of items available, fresh or frozen everything is there from spices too vegis, bread, all the frozen stuff, halal cheese!anything u can think of is in there very well organized and managed! Allah bless u!
It's a Halal Grocery Store, what more could any Muslim want?
Wide variety of items but very slow service. I have waited upto 30 minutes to be served by the butcher. Not very clean.
This place used to sell much better halal meat when I was about 5 years old! Twenty years later, it seems they pray on charging rediculous prices for their meat. Not only that, the meat does not taste so good. Once my mom bought some chicken and even before she cooked it, she got disgusted from the smell that came from it. If halal meat was not so expensive and if only it tasted so good, I would eat it all the time. How can HalalCo charge $4.99 a pound on meat (no matter what part of the animal it comes from) while Giant/Safeway charge only $1.99 or sometimes less? If the meat they sell really is halal, why not make it more possible for people to buy it rather than make it too hard to get.
Wide variety of items. One of the best
One of the best Halal Grocery Store in the area. The owner is a real good muslim who has sacrified his Engineering profession to open a halal store and serve local muslims. Love the place. The place has everything a heart can desire. Good grocery selection, choice halal meats, excellant books on Islam and a service which needs little improvement. I recommend Halalco as the best place in Northern Virginia to do halal shopping.
We do our meat shopping exclusively at Halalco now. It's the first halal meat market I've been to that actually sells real beef steaks (T-bones, rib steaks, filet mignon, etc.) and roasts. The one thing that bothers me is that a large percentage of the chicken legs we buy are broken. All the years I bought chicken legs at Safeway and other places, I never got a broken leg, but at Halalco it seems that 1/3 of them are broken. How humane is the slaughtering if the chicken's legs are getting broken? I worry about that. Their beef is excellent, though.
I buy from Halal co all the time. The new store is great and clean, however the bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. They are dirty, lack of toilet paper and paper towels for drying your hands after washing. As for the quality of the store, is A+. I find everything that I want and I am never disappointed. Great meat, and an incredible frozen foods section. All that is left is to take care of the bathroom, I can't see how I can perforem Wudu in the bathroom if I am in the store and it is time to pray. Thanks for a great service and keep up the good work.
Halaco is the finest, they even have halal marshmello! Thank you for making it easy for all muslim to get the right halal food
Halal Co has relocated now and their new store is mashallah very impressive. I think that store is one of a kind in this area. Very spacious and better presentation. Also very clean.
I've been recently and I haven't noticed a smell or uncleanliness. Their selection of Islamic books is the most extensive I have seen on the East Coast. They also carry clothing, prayer rugs, posters, etc., and they're very helpful in finding you what you need.
